Just in the interests of balance, following a previous thread about negative vibes, AIBU to ask which celebrities have you NOT met but when you watch or listen to them you get a really positive vibe from them? Mine would be Dolly Parton, Craig Revel Horwood, Ian Hislop and Tom Hanks. They just come across to me as genuine good people.

Keanu Reeves.

I'm willing to bet my last Rolo that Bill Bailey, IRL, is as affable and genuinely likeable as he seems.

Tamsin Grieg ditto.

Sneaking suspicion that Dylan Moran would be a top bloke, too. Possibly quiet and unassuming. Happy letting other people take the limelight.

I may have dwelt on all this too much since Black Books.

Stacey Solomon
Milo Ventimiglia
Dara O'Briain
Emilia Clarke
Lolly Adefope

Diane Keaton and Helena Bonham Carter - both walk to the beat of their own drum, have strong sense of style and give zero fucks as to anyone else's negative opinions! Brilliant humour. Bet they make great confidantes. A night out with them, individually or together, would be epic. WineWine

Judi Dench - need I say more?

Maggie Aderin-Pocock - kickass space scientist and dyslexia campaigner. Comes across as upbeat and cheery to the nth degree.

Missingmyusername · 25/01/2024 03:26

@Grittybum What gave you that idea? 😉😂

I would also say Dolly Parton, Ryan Reynolds and Joanna Lumley. 😊

Kathy Burke (she's so down to earth and sort of feels like she could be a cool aunt)

Would second Bob Mortimer, his stories are ridiculous and just excellent

I also like Alison Hammond, she comes across as a genuine Brummie lass and her laugh makes me laugh!

Also yes yes to Dolly Parton, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley

Oh I don't need to post. You've put all of mine down for me lol

DesdamonasHandkerchief · 26/01/2024 14:30

Jon Culshaw, Bob Mortimer, Judy Dench & Julie Walters for me.

Paul Heaton

Ooooh yes agreed he put money behind the bars of 60 pubs on his 60th birthday so that fans could have a drink on him 🤗 always seems very down to earth and grateful for his continuing success.
Also agree that Tom Hanks seems to get nothing but 5 star reviews from people who meet him.

SiobhanSharpe · 26/01/2024 14:49

I'm sure that some of these people named have featured on the "less than lovely celebs I have met" threads....
In fact some of them are known to be quite grumpy on occasion. David Attenborough has a bit of a rep if you're trying to interview him, apparently.
But anyone can be caught on an off-day of course.

FloofCloud · 27/01/2024 09:49

@Bibbidybobbidyroo - details!!! I need Johnny Depp DETAILS?!
How when where ... everything 🤣

Whether you would use the term celebrity to describe him or not, I warmed to Jurgen Klopp as a person even though I don't support Liverpool FC.

Anna Richardson from Naked Atttraction.
Dani Dyer.
Amanda Holden

It's funny, isn't it, how different we all are, because two of these (don't really know about Danni Dyer) come across to me as just awful people.

("OK, let's judge how attractive these five women are by the state of their labia.")

MasterBeth · 27/01/2024 12:52

Thats her job 🙄 I have seen her in other things and have always thought she comes across as lovely and down to earth

MasterBeth · 31/01/2024 16:04

Sure, but she doesn't have to do that job. Would you do that job?

Met David Attenborough a few years ago and I can’t tell you just how lovely he was. Really warm and comfortable to talk to.

likewise (randomly) Peter Andre, who I thought was always a bit icky and then met up with my Dad on holiday and he was sat with him at a bar! Dad didn’t know who he was 😂
