Just in the interests of balance, following a previous thread about negative vibes, AIBU to ask which celebrities have you NOT met but when you watch or listen to them you get a really positive vibe from them? Mine would be Dolly Parton, Craig Revel Horwood, Ian Hislop and Tom Hanks. They just come across to me as genuine good people.

JK Rowling - Brave and stands up for women. Also brilliant writer.
Zoe ball and Claudia winkleman I like they way they come across

Jonny Ball- I actually crashed my pram into his back by accident once due to my toddler having a meltdown and me not looking where I was going. He was very lovely and human.
Julie Walters

Oh, adding to the votes for Dolly Parton, Martin (and Shirley) Kemp and Emilia Clarke too. EC seems like such fun that I can't take her seriously saying "Dracarys" now.

GoT theme, great vibes from Gwendoline Christie too.

Ricky Tomlinson
Bill Nighy

Just about everyone else who's been mentioned

I spotted Bill Nighy in Leeds years back and walked past him leaving the direction of the Trinity Centre as I was going in. He saw me spot him and gave me this, "yeah, I am who you think I am" smile 🤣 Not in an arrogant way though, just in acknowledgment if that makes sense. He seemed very genuinely cool. My DP was gutted because he'd just come off night shift and was so out of it he didn't notice. When I told him, "we just walked past Bill Nighy", he tried to peek but BN was too far into the distance and his face was the 😩 emoji followed by, "oh for fuck sake, that's typical" hahaha

Henry Winkler [aka The Fonz, Happy Days 😎]
always comes across in interviews as a good 'un.

Has spent decades raising awareness about dyslexia, fighting for kids to get better access to support and empowerment.

Humble, self-deprecating, far more interested in other people...

And with that twinkly geniality and a never-ending supply of anecdotes!
I'd like to adopt him as a wise Uncle, please.

Meant to add Ricky Gervaise who gives massive support to animal charities.

After watching Strictly, I think Angela Scanlon would be great on a mum's night out.

Robert Lindsay, he was walking towards me not long ago and I was staring thinking I knew him but couldn’t think where from and he gave me a wink and warm smile as he passed.

Ed Balls
Daniel Craig, love him so much in the sketch he did with Catherine Tate.

Martin Sheen 😍

I think a lot of people would say this, but I find it strange. I think West Wing fans sometimes see him as really being President Bartlet, but if you go back in his career before that he played a lot of angry, troubled or creepy characters. He’s talked about struggling with alcoholism. He produced Charlie Sheen. I think he obviously does have nice qualities, like playing a gay character sympathetically very long before that was a fashionable thing for straight actors to do, but I don’t think he’s just a nice, uncomplicated person.

AliTheMinx · 24/01/2024 18:19

I adore Dermot O'Leary. Seems like such a lovely person x
