Celebs that give you good vibes

Just in the interests of balance, following a previous thread about negative vibes, AIBU to ask which celebrities have you NOT met but when you watch or listen to them you get a really positive vibe from them? Mine would be Dolly Parton, Craig Revel Horwood, Ian Hislop and Tom Hanks. They just come across to me as genuine good people.

Second Ian Hislop and ofc the queen of queens Dolly Parton.

To add, Davina McCall, Claudia Winkelman, Sara Cox, Paul Brunson, David Schwimmer, Trisha Goddard, Sinita, Steve Lamacq, Jamie Dornan, Graham Norton, Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church, Julia Roberts

Steve Lamacq was genuinely nice when I was randomly on a night out with him in the late 90s.

Pedro Pascal always seems lovely.

KreedKafer · 24/01/2024 14:03

I see a lot of people have interpreted 'good vibes' as 'this person happens to share an opinion with me on one issue', which I personally think is a very different thing to 'good vibes'.

Anyway, here are my good vibes people:

Son Heung-min
Bob Mortimer
Stacey Solomon
Claes Bang
Nicola Adams
Bruce Springsteen
Lauren Laverne
Clive Myrie
Noddy Holder
Kathy Burke
Simon Day
Both Hairy Bikers
Gareth Southgate
Also - and it pains me to say this, as a Spurs fan - Ian Wright

Joanna Lumley
Dolly Parton
Alan Titchmarsh
Rylan Clark

and if we're allowed to mention those sadly deceased...

Olivia Newton John
Karen Carpenter

Ariana Grande

no idea why she just comes across as a nice person

I live in Manchester and although I have zero interest in her music, I have huge respect for her because of the way she responded after the terror attack at her Arena gig in 2017. She was clearly traumatised, but still instigated the organisation of a huge benefit concert in the city and rallied loads of her contacts round to perform within two weeks of the attack to raise money for the emergency fund. Manchester City Council absolutely couldn't speak highly enough of her after their direct dealings with her and made her an honorary citizen of the city. She's 100% a good egg.

Rosesarechocolates · 24/01/2024 14:19

Pierce Brosnan.

Mayjune11 · 24/01/2024 14:19

Rob Rinder seems a decent bloke. Claes bang coz I fancy him but he might be a right bastard 😂.

Mayjune11 · 24/01/2024 14:21

Oh I see @KreedKafer had also mentioned Mr Bang. I have hopes he is indeed a lovely person as well as being lovely on my eyes 🤣

Rafe spall. Absolutely convinced we'd instantly become best friends if we ever met.

Have you heard him on Grace Dent's Comfort Eating Podcast? He is the nicest man in the world.

JustwantacupfT · 24/01/2024 14:29

Bradley Walsh 😂

Uricon2 · 24/01/2024 14:29

The Suchet brothers (John and David)
Sir Lenny Henry (I know people who know him but haven't met him myself)
Joanna Lumley
George Michael did so many kind things that no one knew about until his death, seemed able to laugh at himself and as someone said upthread, the person he hurt was him.
Mark Williams (Father Brown)
Paul Whitehouse
Jennifer Saunders and Ade Edmondson
And of course, Anthony Head😆!

Gok Wan
Sara Cox

Met them both (which is weird as I am not in the business of hanging out with celebs).
Gok Wan - met him on a photoshoot. He was very rude about the lady he was doing make up for. Referred to her face as "like a sponge" (she had a lot of work done). He also admitted to taking lots of drugs to loose weight.
Sara Cox - met her at a festival. She was lovely.

Nestofwalnuts · 24/01/2024 14:35

Hugh Dennis. I was looking for somewhere to sit in a cafe and he glanced up from his laptop and gave me the most gorgeous smile ever. It radiated niceness. Nothing sleazy or 'recognise me?' about it. Just lovely man. I think he was about to say I could share his table but another table became free so I didn't really have the excuse. But that smile made me glow the way a baby's laugh makes you feel happy.

FloofCloud · 24/01/2024 04:07

Johnny Depp
George Michael
Both seem(Ed) lovely but have deep issues

Dolly
Joanna lumley
Keanu reeves
So lovely they need naming twice

Get bonkers/good vibes from Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt

Can confirm that Johnny Depp was incredibly gracious and sweet IRL.

Snugglemonkey · 24/01/2024 14:37

I instantly thought Dave Grohl and Claudia Winkleman. I see I am not alone!

Bibbidybobbidyroo · 24/01/2024 14:38

Kate Winslet
Keanu Reeves
Pedro Pascal
Jason Momoa

I also met Moira Stewart at an event where I was working as an assistant and she was a HOOT!

Caresha · 24/01/2024 14:47

Oh also Viola Davis and Susan Sullivan.

Vicliz24 · 24/01/2024 14:54

Joanna Lumley , Dave Grohl , and Katherine Tate who I had a short chat with at the theatre once , she was just lovely.

FrodisCapering · 24/01/2024 14:59

Richard and Judy

Cathbrownlow · 24/01/2024 15:03

Ricky Tomlinson
Bill Nighy

Just about everyone else who's been mentioned

Bibbidybobbidyroo · 24/01/2024 15:04

FrodisCapering · 24/01/2024 14:59

Richard and Judy

Richard def gives me the vibes of a guy who wouldnt let you get a word in edgeways when he starts talking!

I find both Bradley Walsh and Chris Tarrant really disturbing and I don’t know why.

Bradley Walsh has always set off my narcissist radar.

Miranda Hart
Claudia Winkleman
Victoria Coren Mitchell
Victoria Wood (and all her friends, Celia Imrie, Julie Walters etc)

However I’m not sure that celebrities should be congratulated just because they’re nice. I’m always polite and nice and no one congratulates me!

This confirms exactly my impression of both of them!

My DH saw Ben Miller on the train and says he gave him that sort of smile.

Every time someone on the thread has said this I’ve thought of Timothy Spall and been surprised he has such a strong following as I’ve not seen him in anything for years. Just image googled and pretty sure it’s a different bloke 😆

SandyWaves · 24/01/2024 15:09

Joanna Lumley, Claudia, Martin Kemp all have good vibes.

But for anyone saying Alison Hammond, please watch Ant and Dec's show where they pranked her and had hidden cameras. She was incredibly rude to people that she thought were working in a hotel and obnoxious to her manager. Awful woman.
