Celebs that give you strange vibes

Nightsgettingabitlighter · 23/01/2024 21:44

Sort of related to another thread trending about Woo feelings and vibes from people or places. Some people have mentioned celebrities, many people said Saville, even my mum said they all knew he was very strange.
Any other people?

All the people freaking out here about things being said...have you ever spent 5 minutes on Twitter?!

BobDylansMuse · 23/01/2024 23:25

Upthread - What children’s author and one time celebrity?? Who is this?

InAnotherLifetimeMaybe · 23/01/2024 23:26

Ant and Dec

Nasty unnecessary thread @mumsnet take this down

Nah

It's fine

This is very unfair. Naming famous men that make you feel "uneasy" with the implication that they have done something bad is unfair.

You wouldn't like it if some random woman posted a thread on here naming your darling husband saying made her feel uneasy even though she'd never even met him.

It's not right. This feels like a witch hunt. Maybe some of these borderline allegations are correct but I bet a lot of them are a load of rubbish and have no basis. This shit can ruin people's lives.

This. Plus it includes at least some names of people who have not hesitated to take strong action through the law to defend their reputations in the past, which puts MN at real risk.

Katie Price. Especially in the last few years, comes across very cold and emotionless.
Fathers for justice have posted some very disturbing claims about her recently.

Wow, thanks for the tip off, very sinister. Yep, her videos with Harvey appear heartwarming, but in general in life, she seems dead behind the eyes.

Oh goodness it’s just a bit of fun, this isn’t a place for allegations just people who give you a funny vibe. It’s a fair enough question.

For me it’s Mr Tumble and Paul Martin from Flog it. Am sure they’re fine in real life but the funny vibe comes through for me just can’t explain it.

Half of these responses seem to be answering the question, “Which celebrity, whom you’ve never met, do you suspect has committed sex offenses?” It’s uncomfortable at best and potentially defamatory at worst.

2024GarlicCloves · 23/01/2024 23:33

Stephen Fry gives me the ick as well. Now I've seen more of him, I realise he is a supercilious twat but he also still has that extra creepy factor.

Sam Smith, even before he went all nonbinary kink icon but especially now.

Can I have "Nearly all the Cabinet"?

Boris Johnson & Donald Trump are such obvious wrong 'uns, I've always been baffled by the amount of adoration they get.

Agree about Elon Musk, can't explain it.

Benedict Cumberbatch, but I think I'm being really unfair Confused

porridgeisbae · 23/01/2024 23:33

Maybe it's my leftie upbringing but, Jim Davidson.

porridgeisbae · 23/01/2024 23:36

Scautish · 23/01/2024 21:58

Agreed. I think it’s very unfair on people mentioned. Exactly like playground bullying. I wonder how posters on this thread would react if they saw their name (.noting that most posters won’t be famous) I’d be gutted if it was my name

I don't think it's like playground bullying. It's punching up, rather than down. Most of the people mentioned are presumably more minted and famous than all of us. Us sharing an opinion on a random forum isn't going to do them any significant harm.

TheyreStillGoingWithThemPlumsKerr · 23/01/2024 23:37

Freddie Starr

penjil · 23/01/2024 23:38

Stephen Mulhern.

Seems to be here there and everywhere on ITV and is now on an advert for Butlins....I don't know how he's managed to have the TV career he has.

No charisma, no charm, he just seems fake and plastic and creepy.

Bbq1 · 23/01/2024 23:40

Bit cruel looking at celebrities whom you know nothing about, don't know who they really are and judging them, calling them unpleasant etc. You only know their public persona but they are real people with feelings. They are trolled everyday as it is, let's not join in.

David Walliams....?

Bbq1 · 23/01/2024 23:42

Mostly slagging men off too - surprise surprise...

TooBigForMyBoots · 23/01/2024 23:42

Ben Fogle.

Pekoe78 · 23/01/2024 23:42

Isn’t it fair to acknowledge that sometimes we get a funny feeling about someone without being able to logically explain it? It’s a very human feeling and an instinct that can be protective in some situations. Of course no-one mentioned on this thread has been accused of doing anything untoward by mumsnetters.

This . 100% . Surprised this thread is still running.

ThreeTreeHill · 23/01/2024 23:43

Stephen Fry, he just seems incredibly fond of himself.

I love supervet and just googled to check I was thinking of the correct supervet, and he does actually give off a bit of a stare. It's a name often bought up on these sort of threads but I've just never got it. It might just be his "being sexy" look

Dibbydoos · 23/01/2024 23:45

Oh, Stephen Coogan is from my home town. Dated 2 of my mates when we were in senior school.

He was OK then, honestly, but who knows what he's like now.

KarenNotAKaren · 23/01/2024 23:47

The man is thankfully dead and buried but I can’t believe that the showbiz world ever gaslighted us into thinking Michael Jackson wasn’t one of the creepiest most revolting and abusive men to ever exist.

Justleaveitblankthen · 23/01/2024 23:48

I like Chris Packham and love the way Michaela deals with him. She's known him most of her adult life, so it's a joy to watch them. "Trouser stroking" indeed😁

Have said since the Little Britain years that David Walliams is a total sleaze.
Could never watch BGT once he was a judge.

Also don't like McGuinness, but love Peter Kay. Not so much in interviews though. He's annoying. I know he's said it's because he doesn't like to be interviewed, but still..
Agree also about Ricky Gervais, but he gets a brownie point for his love of dogs 🐶

Pekoe78 · 23/01/2024 22:46

The more I learn about neurodivergence the more I suspect her of being on the spectrum. It’s just a thought not fact but I think it might be worth considering before calling her cold and emotionaless.

I think if it's anything innocent that makes her seem impassive now, it could be because she can't move her face much.

FreyafromLondon · 23/01/2024 23:49

I was Freddie stars personal PA I'm shocked to see his name. He's a very nice bloke

These posts are pretty tawdry. It's gossipy insinuation and rumour and not in the spirit of the site.
