Celebs that give you strange vibes

Nightsgettingabitlighter · 23/01/2024 21:44

Sort of related to another thread trending about Woo feelings and vibes from people or places. Some people have mentioned celebrities, many people said Saville, even my mum said they all knew he was very strange.
Any other people?

I was very happy to contribute to the Chris Packham’s fundraiser, just to see him take down some inbred forelock-tuggers. And he did.
Well done Chris!

Not sure what you're talking about as CP hasn't done anything yet. That crowdfunder only closed in December and no legal action has happened yet. I don't know what the 'inbred forelock tugger' reference is either.

If you want to donate to a multimillionaire's legal costs though, crack on.

Crikey, if (when! Grin) DD gets her big break I hope she doesn't end up on one of these threads Sad

Even celebs have feelings.

Not everyone is going to like us though in ordinary life or celebrity life. I generally got on well with colleagues but one woman took against me for no apparent reason, in the end I asked her what was the problem and she swore at me and said she wanted me to stop pretending to be nice. Was it nice? No. She couldn't explain her feelings, we just sort of agreed to avoid each other.

Yes but I am sure celebs have better things to do than follow this thread and agonise over it!! Especially in the case of the ones we have dissed here... they are too busy being demonic 😈🤣

They don’t need to. The 2013 Defamation Act gives websites like Tattle and MN a defence when defamatory statements are made in user-generated content. What they will do, and have done, is hand over the identity of a poster making libellous statements if ordered by a court, so that the complainant can sue them directly.

Ah, we're back to the myth of IP address = real address.

OnGoldenPond · 24/01/2024 21:08

@Dibilnik , you'd be surprised!! One of her mates was on Doctors not long ago and was chuffed to bits when I told him he had made it onto a Mumsnet thread! Luckily the comments were all good Grin

David Jason and cliff richard

David Jason? I feel the opposite, like he radiates goodness. I'm interested why you think this.

I had to google Chris Packham which shows how much telly I watch. But apparently he did win a legal case(s) last spring against people who were accusing him of stuff.

I think it's only a matter of time before CR's dodgyness is revealed.
Some people think that if they're famous enough, rich enough, well-liked enough that they're invincible.
No one would've ever thought Rolf Harris. The worst thing is people knowing and keeping quiet eg Catherine Ryan and others knew about Russell Brand so why didn't they report them? I'm guessing because if they hadn't been believed it could be so damaging to their career.
I'm glad MN isn't removing this thread, ot usually removes the interesting ones.

@shrunkenhead Who is CR?

The fact that Graham Norton, Alan Titchmarsh and Peter Andre have been mentioned is proof that this thread is just a bit of nonsense about personal tastes. I would love to have them over for dinner! 🤩⭐

Nightsgettingabitlighter · 25/01/2024 09:01

@shrunkenhead Ahh sorry yes, got it. They’ve been investigated already though haven’t they

The problem is that you can't accuse someone on the basis of mere suspicion or rumour. Some of these men openly boast of being litigious: the only thing to be achieved by reporting them is to sink your own career and reputation. This is male power in action, unfortunately. And it puts all who may have have heard those rumours in an invidious position, because when it eventually comes out they too will be accused of complicity and even of being as bad as the abusers.

It's one thing thinking a particular man is to be avoided, but quite another to 'know'. A friend of mine was a TV dancer back in the days of 'event' programming and worked with a few household names. She told me even at the time that there were certain names known to every young woman in the business as men to avoid. Rolf Harris was the one she specifically mentioned.

These predators have been getting away with it for years.

Katie Price. Especially in the last few years, comes across very cold and emotionless.
Fathers for justice have posted some very disturbing claims about her recently.

If Fathers for Justice take against some then they go up in my book.

Their fb group and offshoots are absolutely appalling. They should be banned.

MooseBreath · 25/01/2024 09:40

I would like to preface this by saying it is purely speculation and how I feel. It is entirely possible that these are genuinely good people.

David Walliams (he makes me so uncomfortable I can't even describe it)
John Torode (I always get angry drunk vibes from him)
Sue and Noel Radford (their eyes are so emotionless, even when talking about their children)

I wonder if some of this is to do with looks. Torode does have a certain look about him but then he is so kind and encouraging to contestants on Masterchef it makes you think he is a good man. He comes across as humble and genuine.

I put Katie Price in the same bucket as Kardashians and Suella Braverman - yes they are not great people but their detractors are usually a million times worse.

As soon as some bloke starts slagging any of them off I put him on my shit list, regardless of whether he has a point. There are some men (F4J being a prime example) who take misogynistic delight in identifying, isolating and bullying 'bad women' because they can get others to join in.

They’re all ghastly. Not because they’re women, but because they’re all awful people.

I’d set Braverman apart here seeing as she is directly accountable to the public and has influence over governmental policy and political discourse in the UK. (Plus she’s truly diabolical.)

I don’t think it’s fair to lump her in with KP and the Kardashians! (In those cases I fully agree with you.)
