I work in an easy but mentally draining job at a GP. I'm on 28.5k which for my role is probably the most I'll ever get.

I wanted to study nursing, applied and got accepted.

My kids are 8 & 14 so I was trying to finish the course before eldest went to uni.

I'm thinking of deferring but I don't know if it's fear or right?

My mortgage fixed term finishes next year. So if I defer, I can remortgage.

My credit rating will be perfectly clear next year.

It gives me another year to earn money without worrying

And I'm scared I'll fail the course and have given up this job.

But if I don't take the leap now,

They may not offer a place next year if conditions change

Eldest will be year 13 at school I think

Am I just being scared?

Is it just your earning you're relying on?

Tbh it's a bit like having a baby, no time (on paper) is the right time.

Go for it!

Can you afford to do the course now? That would be the main issue.
