To expect CARPHONE WAREHOUSE to honour their part of our contract

In brief - DD (14)had a contract, during the course of which she discovered boys. Bills got horrendous, I called Carphone Warehouse to say that we would not be renewing at the end of the contract.

They offered a deal whereby if she went over an agreed cut off limit, no further outgoing calls would be allowed.

Sounded perfect - agreed to go for it.

Within a couple of months we received a bill for over £100 - and Carphone Warehouse then informed me that they were not obliged to apply the cut off.

Been arguing this for months - it would be easier to pay, but why should I.

Has anyone else used successfully a similar agreement with the Carphone Warehouse or any other mobile provider?

Thanks - and sorry for length.

YANBU to expect them to honour the contract, but TBH, I'm not that surprised - they're pretty terrible with this sort of thing.

Hope you manage to get it sorted out.

No ive no experiance of this, but i would not let them get away with it, be forceful and threaten then with seeking legal adice, they wills oon drop it

They are just dreadful! I have a 2" thick file of paperwork - I've recorded everything. Today their debt collector phoned me, and was telling me that I'd lose my credit rating, I didn't have a case etc. I'm so angry, I've said that I'd rather go to prison than pay - so dd is now feeling dreadfully guilty - unless this is her 14 yo way of getting a break from mum!!

can you contact ofcom and complain to them about it? www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/

Also - an email to Watchdog might help

good luck

Thank you! I have emailed the details to Ofcom.

Be really interested to know whether Carphone Warehouse have applied this cut off for anyone?
