Hi- is anyone able to read a brain MRI?

im NOT looking for a diagnosis here (I’ve already had it checked by the doctor who requested it and my brain is fine lol) I just wondered out of interest if anyone could tell me what the small black dots are? I’ll send some examples from my scan. I know it’s nothing bad but I’m just curious! I know it’s nothing bad and I’m not looking for a diagnosis because it’s already been checked a doctor! Just wondered if anyone knew anything about MRI scans and knew if it was something to do with the folded up/squiggly shape of the brain or something like that?

Usually the spaces in your brain between the folds or blood vessels. The more solid, the whiter things are.

Oooh that’s interesting! I did imagine it would be something to do with that, or something related to the shape of the brain. Very cool!

I think in your case it is the shape of the brain. It’s naturally divided into “lobes” and those spaces are where two lobes meet.

Those are blood vessels. Specifically arteries.

Some of the black dots look like blood vessels in cross section (like looking down on a toilet roll tube so that you see the circle that is the hole).

I can't 'read' them but did have one once. I asked if my brain looked beautiful and the technician said 'yes you have a good brain'. Haha. The noise in the machine was deafening.
