wwyd? Photos taken at a party last week. Was shown them on the night out and said to the person taking them that I didn’t like them and could they please be deleted. Photos have now appeared on the socials under persons name with a comment about the way I look.. and I’m tagged in. I’ve asked for tag to be removed which it has but the same photo is still tagged to other people that went that night along with other photos. I know I’ve no control over what people post but this has upset me as I asked for the photo to be deleted…wwyd?

How close are you to the person who took the photo? Are other people in the picture happy with it? I don't think you have any right to ask for it to be deleted because you don't like it. But comments are uncalled for.

2dogsandabudgie · 14/01/2024 18:30

What was the comment about the way you looked and who made it?

Fionaville · 14/01/2024 18:30

What's the comment about how you look?

Fionaville · 14/01/2024 18:31

And is the photo just of you or are other people in it?

jackstini · 14/01/2024 18:34

Can they crop you out of it and still post it?

It's not nice when you've asked them specifically not to post it; unfortunately no law against being unkind so not much you can do 😕

LightSwerve · 14/01/2024 18:35

That's not OK, they are very unkind.
What was the comment?
I think all you can do is ask politely for the photos to be deleted, in a way that everyone else can see the request. Then keep away from this person in future as that is quite a shitty thing to do.

Funnywonder · 14/01/2024 18:37

I don't think there's much you can do. I think, in theory, people should ask permission before they post someone's photo on social media and respect their wishes if they say no, but in practice most don't bother. I don't post photos of myself anywhere, so I'd be a bit pissed off if someone else did. I would never post a photo of anyone, ever. Not even DP. But then I'm old and don't get all this sharing of photos!

bluechicky · 14/01/2024 18:41

If they've posted it in a genuine error as they've forgotten you said no then fine but the fact they've commented on how you look, either positive or negative, suggests they remember. As an aside no one does this any more do they? Maybe an Instagram story but that's about it and only lasts 24 hours.

bluechicky · 14/01/2024 18:42

Maybe comment on it and say you asked them to delete the photo so you're disappointed they decided to put it on the Internet.

Happyface246 · 14/01/2024 20:10

Just me in the photo ..and a comment about chins…

Who made the comment the person who posted the photo or someone else?

Tinkerbyebye · 14/01/2024 20:59

I would go to the person who posted the photo and remind them that you asked for it not to be posted, which they have done, and there has been a nasty comment that is totally uncalled you. I would say that you are upset and would like them to remove the photo

if they don’t then I would simply not be friends with them any more

kisstheblarney · 14/01/2024 21:01

If it's only you, I'd be very angry and ask for it to be removed immediately

MissingMoominMamma · 14/01/2024 21:03

Did the person who posted it make the comment?

I would be furious, given that you’d already asked for it to be deleted.
