Facebook requests

Ive been using facebook for a number of years. Recently I have been getting various pop ups advertising other members and inviting me to add them as friends. These are young women whom I do not know and would never add them. Today I got a pop up from one of these people saying xxxx has accepted yur friendship request. I had one of these a few weeks ago and I just unfriended the person and did the same today.

I thought I would come on here to ask about this because I find it strange that a complete stranger would want to add me. They dont know me and I do not know them. I would only add someone that I knew.

Where have these random fb members come from? How can i stop getting these pop ups everey day advertising these people that I do not know and who look like teenagers. i wonder if someone has hacked into my account?

If they've accepted your friend request then your account has requested them, not them you.

The other pop ups you talk about, is it just friend suggestions? We all get them. Or is it actually friend requests?

The first thing Id do is check in you settings to see what devices are signed into your Facebook and remove them all (but the device you are using) Then I'd change your password and security settings. Because, you've somehow requested this person.
As for random people requesting you. Most of the time they are scammers. Sometimes you have mutual friends and these people request you to sell you something.
