Mine is Glen Tilbrook (Squeeze), Robert Johnson (blues musician) and Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby. Not his normal voice.

Idris Elba in the Wire. Melvyn Bragg hosting In our Time. Not in a sexual way, just love the intelligent authority.

David Attenborough for the same reason.

Also Kelsey Grammer

I love strong accents, particularly Scottish but all of them really. Don't like generic RP accents which is a shame as DH has one!

keverne · 13/01/2024 13:14

Michael Sheen, Jonathan Sims

Didn’t one of these two do the voice over for Michael Jackson’s Thriller?

Knackeredhamster · 13/01/2024 13:16

Adam Yauch (MCA) from Beastie Boys such a sexy rough yet gentle tone.

Rip 😞

That was Vincent Price.

Lots of these. There’s a radio 4 2-hander serial with roger allam and Joanna lumley - it doesn’t even really matter what they’re saying, just lovely to listen to.

Love Neil Nunes but I think even more Viji Alles. Hi shipping forecast is the best!

singers - Shelby lynne, Ella Fitzgerald, Ron sexsmith, aretha Franklin. Hamilton leithauser, the singer in the Walkmen, has the most transparently emotional voice that I love listening to.

splothersdog · 13/01/2024 13:18

Cerys Matthews and Billy Connolly

Moier · 13/01/2024 13:21

LookItsMeAgain · 13/01/2024 13:26

@FarleyHatcherEsq - what's wrong with Cillian Murphy's real voice or it is more the accent that you like and not necessarily him doing the accent?

Fionaville · 13/01/2024 13:29

Not 'In love' with, but my I love Vanessa Redgrave narrating Call the Midwife. It instantly relaxes me and its just so wholesome.

Papyrophile · 13/01/2024 13:32

An old name, Marius Goring. He was in a 1970s TV series (can't remember what), and in films going back to the 40s... but the voice!

Obama

Oh yes. He could read a bedtime story to me any day of the week.

I particularly like Samuel L Jackson and Morgan Freeman too. I love the Scottish accent so David Tennant works for me too.

I love Kirsty Young's voice too.

BluePeppermint · 13/01/2024 13:33

Douglas Adams
