Biopsy on skin.

I thought I was bitten back in August I messed around with it in September by using after bite too much and a bite sucker thing so I ended up getting infection. I had antibiotics but didn’t clearly completely. I’ve been left with the below.

Our gp has a dermy doctor and he said he thinks it’s over reaction under skin and cos I messed with it. So he said he’d send to dermatology but could have it for months if damaged skin.

dermo said she’ll refer for biopsy as still looks little inflamed and when doing it she said I have put suspected skin cancer but I don’t think that’s what it is it’s just to get it done as I’ve had it for a long time. I’m now panicking even tho I’m pretty sure it is from me and I thought it was just healing into a scar now. Anyone have any stories of good outcomes, why would she refer for cancer if she doesn’t think it is

I had something similar, but a bit smaller, for more than 10 years! Had it glanced at by Gps a couple of times but nothing much said. Became worried about it last year as I wasn't sure if it had changed (hard to see as on my back). Got referred on the 2 week pathway only because they said I'd have to wait for more than a year otherwise. Skin cancer was not suspected. She suspected it was similar thing to you - caused by a bite that had reacted. Had a biopsy and was as she predicted. It won't ever go away. I only had a part of it biopsied and could have had the whole thing removed but that would have left a big scar, so I didn't bother.

Thanks I hope that’s all it is I’m pretty sure it is as I watched it from a tiny bite which itched and I couldn’t stop itching it and it still occasionally itchy now!
