How do you mark your 40th birthday

I’m turning 40 this year and I have no idea what to do. I have no close friends at all. I’m quite happy with my own company / family bubble and almost actively made sure no close friendships were ever formed. I always found the little or big dramas that friendships bring overwhelming and feel a lot more relaxed staying out of it.

We could potentially organise a ‘special’ trip, but it falls during term time, so not possible.

A nice restaurant won’t do it, we go out at least once every 2 weeks and I like exploring new (to us) and beautiful places to eat, so it would feel more like something we always do.

Any ideas?

I went on a solo trip to Berlin for my 40th birthday.

My husband didn’t bother with mine (which hurt a lot) so my sister took me to Edinburgh.

It’s mine this year too, I’m having a party.
For my 30th I had a party and then dh and I went on an Italian city break with our best friends, I also had a girly weekend to Budapest. Lovely.
Could you get away either before or after for a special weekend? On your own or with a family member?
Alternatively you don’t have to mark it if you don’t want to. I don’t normally really celebrate my other birthdays with the exception of the dcs making me a cake and having some presents. No nights out though or anything more elaborate than that.
