Is this normal after getting surgery?

Sorry if this is obvious! Just not sure at all

first operation so really clueless about this. It was 3 months ago and healed well apart from one side is the scar. The other edge has healed completely and the middle of the scar is healed and started to fade. But one end has just never healed and is really painful. It’s slightly painful to touch but excruciating to press

i suppose the obvious solution is just to not press it lol, but I was just wondering if this is normal at this stage? It’s my first op and I’ve no experience of this before. I had 2 courses of antibiotics after it and it got infected at that end but very very mildly- if you pressed it pus would come out but only a bit, similar to a spot. But apart from that there were no complications

is this normal after an op? Cheers x

My scars healed completely very quickly. You should get it checked. There might be a little bit of stitch that hasn't come out? Your practice nurse can look at it for you.

I’d get it checked - I had a scar where a tiny bit of it didn’t heal so well and I needed some cream for a bit of a fungal infection. As soon as that cleared the scar closed up nicely. Not saying this is what you have but certainly I’d expect it to be healing evenly and without as much pain as you describe.

I'd get that checked incase you've got a collection

Thanks (and others too) if it is just a stitch that hasn’t come out, I’m presuming they can just numb the area and remove it or something like that?

Contact your surgical team or make a GP appointment.

Doesn’t sound normal.
