Headache after flu spray

Dd13 had flu spray this morning and is now in bed with a headache.

Leaflet says this is a common side effect but not sure how long after dose you'd expect to see side effects?

Reason for my concern is DD has also had 2 migraines in recent weeks. First time they've had them and I'm trying hard not to panic about it being something more sinister (have health anxiety and have just started seeing therapist to address this l). Concerned that this is potentially the 3rd migraine in as many weeks. Or is flu spray most likely cause?

My daughter was the same, loads of sleep for 24 hours and then better.

This has happened two years in a row, not going to get it for her next year

It can be a common symptom of the flu vaccine.
But as you say she has started getting migraines I would speak to a pharmacist/GP to see why and work out if something (stress, hormones, diet) could be causing them.

Why take the risk of encouraging your child to take a treatment with side effects? Wouldn’t it be better to take a more cautious approach.

Most likely the spray but also her age means maybe they’re hormonal headaches? Very common.

No, it generally wouldn’t.

OP: a common, temporary side effect. I’d be talking to pharmacist/GP separately about migraines, I gather there are some fairly reliable treatments now.
