For the last roughly two weeks I have been feeling unwell. I can feel fine for large periods of the day and then all of a sudden ill go shakey and feel like I'm about to throw up, this can happen at any time of day but is especially worse at night time.

All through the night I startle myself awake feeling like I'm about to heave. When the nausea spells happen they can last for about an hour then I'll be okay again. I haven't actually been sick and I can still eat (in-between spells). Sometimes during these times, i shake so much its like I'm freezing cold (but I'm not) my teeth chatter and I can feel my whole body shaking.

When it first started I thought great my toddler has brought home noro or something but it's never developed into actual vomiting or diarrhoea and it's been going on much longer now than typical sickness bugs. Also no one else in the house (DH and 3 DC) are unwell just me.

There is no chance of pregnancy.

I know its not been ages but the longer it's going on the more I'm starting to worry. Sometimes I can go the majority of the day feeling fine and I think it's gone then it comes back suddenly.

It's very sudden too, there is no build up it's just I feel fine one second and the next I feel like I need to get to a toilet and I'm shaking.

Could it be low blood sugar?

Following with interest, this has been happening to my DD, always around the same time. Shaking, teeth chattering and saying she feels sick…but nothing comes of it. Always sudden and she’s been fine all day.

Yes, I would have been to the GP by now for blood tests! It might be anaemia, thyroid, low sugar levels or any number of other things. Please get it checked.
