I'm working tonight (support worker) but I must say I'm starting to get really bad FOMO seeing everyone get dressed up and going out. Anyone else in the same boat?! Let's share our boring NYE stories to give each-other some comfort 🤣

Also... so glad I won't be hanging tomorrow!

New Years Eve

Definitely no NYE FOMO here. Clever DP has cooked venison bourguignon which we are about to enjoy with a nice bottle of Aussie Shiraz. Far better than a pub packed full of pissed people followed by waiting in the cold & rain for a taxi.

Kids in bed, cheeseboard out and a movie on. Expect to be sound asleep by 11. Perfectly happy with that!

@AhBiscuits it's the first one but I just almost cried at mean girls and am now on the bit where Carrie gets stood up so crying now! I actually still like the second film but in a 'so bad it's good sort of way'. (Also had some bad news from a friend tonight so that's what I'm blaming and not the champagne/hormones/being single)

Team JOMO all the way. Going out on NYE was always shite, but it's finally sunk in for every last friend of mine, so I don't even need to make up excuses any more.
Just me and DP, eating fish+chips and drinking/nibbling various Christmas presents. Then Lego, in front of The Godfather trilogy.

I haven't got it for myself, I'm happy to stay at home. I've got it on behalf of my adult ds, who is lying on his bed like an overgrown teenager. He's been out a lot since he came home, is pubbed out & full of cold, banging head etc. He's cried off going out tonight & wants to get well again before he returns to Raf in the week; his choice but I stil have fomo on his behalf

Not at all. Someone posted this meme in one of my WhatsApp groups. It was followed by about a dozen replies where everybody shaid that they also had their tickets.

I have memories of going to pubs and clubs for NYE when I was younger and they were always overpriced, overcrowded and not much fun.

The only person I know who is actually out tonight is dd who will be working in a bar.

I'm happy to stay at home and enjoy a curry with dp.

Had my sister round for a few drinks earlier, we have 2 young kids each and was carnage by the end with the kids as she stays way too long and they are over tired and one has ADHD.
Now in my PJ's putting mine to bed then can relax a bit. So not missing out on much here 😂

No FOMO here. I am on the sofa in old jogging bottoms and an t shirt doing nothing, apart.from finishing some.xmas nibbles.with a cup.of tea. DH is in the bath (and has been for about an hour). I have done all my washing/ironing and taken down the xmas Dec's today though 😀

God no! I love staying in for NYE, look back on the years of expensive going out for the event with utter horror. Don’t think I ever once had a good night out on NYE! A few decent ones at smaller house parties though. Bloody love staying in with DH and a lot of cheese and fizz nowadays!
