Husband Being Nasty

MeMyself00 · 31/12/2023 19:17

Am I being unreasonable? Got a Tesco order delivered and my husband complained about the crisps I ordered. I said that the kids like them. Then he complained about the sausages I ordered. I said that the kids like them. He said, if the kids liked/wanted cancer, would you give them that too?

This really upset me

What an arse...Maybe he can do the food shop next time?

MeMyself00 · 31/12/2023 19:36

My Mum has recently been diagnosed with secondary cancer which is non treatable so it really hurt me. I told him he can do the food shop next time

Then that makes his comment all the worse!
I'm sorry about your mum

Restinggoddess · 31/12/2023 19:58

He can do the next food order
perhaps it’s on his mind ( about food and health) so give him the chance to step up

Dont let it upset you - sorry about your mum

MeMyself00 · 31/12/2023 19:59

Thank you x

I hope you told hi he was being an insensitive shit? Call him out on this childish behaviour.

JMSA · 31/12/2023 20:01

His comment was so stupid that it doesn't even make sense.

Hope you're ok and I'm sorry about your mum Flowers

pictoosh · 31/12/2023 20:03

No it was a thoroughly obnoxious thing to say.
Does he often rudely correct or chide you when you don't bow down to his opinion?

Cherrysoup · 31/12/2023 20:05

What a bizarre thing for him to say. Definitely make him do the shop in future.

LaDerniereVacheFolle · 31/12/2023 20:06

What a weird thing to say about his own DC. He doesn't sound very nice.

VanLife33 · 31/12/2023 20:06

Good point from pp ..
Maybe he is more concerned about the type of food being consumed due to your mum's diagnosis X

Im so sorry OP.

DinaofCloud9 · 31/12/2023 20:07

Ugh he thinks he's so clever and witty. Awful comment considering your mum x

SoapyBubblesLittleTroubles · 31/12/2023 20:12

He's a thundercunt. I'm not usually one of the LTB brigade but to say that with your mum being ill, it isn't indicative of a good man. Its unforgivable and, as someone who got rid of a similar thundercunt for similar behaviour, its worth the hassle of getting rid. He can order the crisps he wants in his new home...

SoapyBubblesLittleTroubles · 31/12/2023 20:13

Also, sending lots of love and positive thoughts to you and your mum. I also went through something similar to that and I know how tough it is 💜💜💜

Goodlard · 31/12/2023 20:18

He's a cunt, make sure NYE 2024 he is not with you!

Room2move · 31/12/2023 20:20

His comment was uncalled for and unnecessary, YANBU OP.

Pigeonqueen · 31/12/2023 20:21

Tell him if he wants a divorce you can get him one of those. Total arsewipe.

CarrotCake01 · 31/12/2023 20:28

You know you're not unreasonable for being upset by that comment.

I feel like there's more going on between you than this though, this wasn't the first time you've fallen out I'm assuming?

369damnshesfine · 31/12/2023 20:30

Ask him why he’s acting so miserable and tell him if he wants to do the shopping next time he’s welcome to.

WhatsInStoreFor2024 · 31/12/2023 21:04

The cancer comment was low, I'm sorry to hear about your mum. He must have known that would hurt

His annoyance about it all being stuff the kids liked though....can understand that a bit. It's been all about the kids for weeks now. Maybe he feels it would be nice to be about the adults for once. I get that!
