To look for a new job?

Bit of background, I'm contracted to work 16 hours a week at my current job (2 days) but I have been working (3-4 days) for the last few years. I've decided to go back into education but my uni days are on the 2 days I would do overtime so now I'm working just my 16 hours. It won't be forever and my work are really good in regards to accommodating for DS and Uni and it's close to home and DS school but money wise I'm really noticing the drop in pay. Financially we can manage as my partners pay covers bills etc it's just the holidays and extras we'll have to cut back on. Debating if to look for a different job where I can work more but I feel I'd be throwing away a good set up as I do enjoy my job I've been there over 10 years. But the thought of another few years on this pay is getting my down. Would you look at a new job? I could ask for more hours but the days I can do overtime are fully staffed so I'm not needed.

It's never unreasonable to look for a new job if your current one doesn't suit you anymore.

I would ask for extra hours first. There may be people in your organisation who are flexible and can swap shifts with you to the days you are able to do.

Just get another job on the day(s) you're free?

If you are studying, and a parent, and are working 2 days, doesn't that already make you quite busy? How much study do you need to fit in outside your 2 days at Uni?
