To ask you about cheques In films

Just watched a couple of films where rich people wrote cheques. In both films, they had a large rindbinder type folder which appeared to have large tear off cheques, almost like 3 normal size cheques underneath each other.
Did these really exist? If yes what are they/were they? Were they a rich person only thing?

Couts bank in London had those plus maybe pre 1970s cheques were bigger

Yes, they are a thing (even nowadays :-), but I've only seen businesses using them usually.
