Anyone else feeling like this after Christmas ??

I feel like I need a holiday. The constant cleaning / cooking / tidying is killing me. As soon as I sit down, I need to get up again. It's exhausting.

We have two kids, 1 and 3. It's so tiring, all the time.

I have had a cough for 10 days and also just been so exhausted, which doesn't help.

It's just so relentless.

My H is also doing stuff but it's relentless for us both. I go to bed at 9 and get up again at 7, with a few night wakes in between but still. I'm getting a lot of rest but still just so exhausted.

Christmas is totally knackering. Have had my adult dc here as well as teenage dc and the constant meal planning/prep and clearing up is wiping me out. Add in hosting other family visitors and it feels relentless.

I don't know what to do differently though - it would really upset my (elderly, unwell) parents if I didn't spend Christmas Day with the family together and obviously my kids are welcome at home whenever they want to come!

I completely relate. Two boys aged 2 and 4. Every time I sit down, the 2 year old scuttles out of the room and I have to follow him to make sure he's not up to no good. He's learned how to open doors so nowhere is safe. 🙃 Then 4 wants a snack so I get up again. Then 2 has fallen over. Then the doorbell goes. Then 4 and 2 are fighting over a toy. They both want a cuddle and end up fighting on my lap while I'm trying to just cuddle them. The struggle is real and I'm sending empathy.

I'm not doing cleaning or clearing. All the excess stuff that was in the way has been shoved in a cupboard. Wiped the worktops and ran the hoover round. That's it. There's still wine and chocolate to be had.

We're staying at my parents' house and having a great time, but earlier I was wishing I could slump on my own sofa in total silence for an hour without anyone talking to me or trying to force feed me or asking me to assemble a fecking snap circuit.

Totally get this! Two DDs 3 and 4. Minute I sit down they want something, totally out of routine too so 4yo has developed an attitude, and 3yo won't let dh do anything for her as she 'wants mammy' for everything!

Yes totally. I have 1 year old twins who are into everything, we moved house on the 1st December too and I had surgery. Totally knackered need a 6 month holiday really!

5 year old and nearly 2 year old here. Couldn't agree more, it's exhausting!

I feel like I need a month at Champneys.
Elderly parents, adult kids, teenage kids and grandbaby. Throw in sibling and nibblings. A long distance return journey with hours of traffic.
I am done in.
