Friend is annoyed at me.

I met up with my friend for dinner a week before Christmas and she asked if we could meet up during the week between Christmas and New Year for a walk and coffee with my new baby.

She messaged me with dates the next day and I only realised yesterday that she’d messaged and the dates she suggested have been and gone. I’ve messaged her back and apologised and she’s read and ignored it.

She’s probably just busy

We all make mistakes, assuming you're not usually flaky or unreliable she'll be back in touch.

StBrides · 29/12/2023 23:39

Assuming you apologised for missing her message then there's not much more you can do right now.

She's entitled to be annoyed if she is, but hopefully she's just cooling off and not going to turn it into A Big Thing.

If she does then I'd apologise again to clear the air but don't go grovelling about it. We all get busy.

She probably just hadn’t had time to reply or is not wanting to seem like she is instantly available when you haven’t responded immediacy to a message either.

I think you are reading too much in to one lack of reply. She’d be a bit unreasonable to ignored you over one missed text.

If you are often unreliable that’s another matter.

Thats ok, she is entitled to be hurt. She asked to meet up, you presumably said yes and then ignored her. However you are also entitled to be busy and forget, especially with a baby. You apologised. I would leave it a few days and then make the first move. Apologise again and just say you would like to meet up X, Y, Z dates. Give her options rather than just a flat sorry with no resolution or future.
