For refusing to make coffee for DH?

Name changed as I have another thread running which I don’t want crossing with this one.

Earlier DH made me a coffee. I poured a bit of it down the sink to avoid spilling it as it was pretty full. DH shouted “what are you doing?” So I told him I was just pouring a bit out so that I didn’t spill it. He burst out laughing saying “that makes no fucking sense” and I laughed too because it did sound funny the way it came out. However ever since he’s been running upto everyone shouting “careful don’t spill your drink!” And doing impressions of someone spilling a drink. This has gone on all day. I’ve asked him to give it a rest multiple times.

4pm I decided to make a coffee and he asked me to make him one too. I said “better not, you might spill it”. He flung his head back, screamed and said “what is your obsession with spilling drinks?” I reminded him that it’s him with the obsession as he’s been going on about it all bloody day! Hence my remark.

Who is in the wrong here? Was I being petty not making him a coffee?

No one is unreasonable or you both are unreasonable for your attempts at humour with each other just falling flat.

These things happen at times.

He sounds like a bell end, but why did he scream? All very dramatic

LittleGreenDragons · 29/12/2023 20:02

Before I answer, how much alcohol has been drunk by either of you today?

Illstartexercisingtomorrow · 29/12/2023 20:03

This sounds like a nothing made into a something (by him).

I know this is just a small snapshot but he sounds like a tedious bore and you aren’t unreasonable for getting sick of it!

Mirrorballsocial · 29/12/2023 20:05

I understand what you mean about pouring a bit out. Aa you can tip it over the sink and it doesn't matter if it spills down side of pit. Where as it does matter more on the table.

He sounds annoying tbh

Aquamarine1029 · 29/12/2023 20:05

He sounds like an insufferable jackass.

Catsmere · 29/12/2023 20:07

How seldom has he made a drink for anyone else that he doesn't know how easy it is to spill from an over-full cup? And then to make a thing of it all day ... tosser.

GrumpyPanda · 29/12/2023 20:09

Sounds like a five year old.

BMW6 · 29/12/2023 20:23

He sounds like a right wanker.

xsquared · 29/12/2023 21:03

Could he be annoyed that he went through the effort of making you a drink, only for you to pour some of it away?

Not that it excuses or justify his behaviour of course. The passive aggressiveness and immaturity is off putting.

You tried getting him to stop and he wouldn't.
