Every year DH’s family member makes us three things, mince pies, Christmas cake and Christmas pudding. Only DH eats them as I absolutely hate dried fruit and DC just doesn’t like them, family member is aware of this.
Thing is DH will only eat the mince pies as he says with all the other Christmas food it’s not something he’s too fussed about.
Whenever the family member drops the items off to us they will always say how much hassle it’s been to make them and they won’t bother next year (surprise! They always do!) I hate wasting food and want to say to them nicely that next year it’s ok if they don’t make them. DH says to leave it as it might upset them.

I'd say he loves kes mince pies but the rich cake gives him indigestion nowadays.

Yup. As above. Only the mince pies get eaten, we'd love more of those instead. Done.
