because DD2 (18m) is already asleep and DH is out for the evening? And now they're both asleep I'm sitting on Mumsnet with a glass of Fosters.

Definatetly not unreasonable!

I'd have done the same tonight if I only had my almost 5 year old...but I wanted to keep dd (18 months) going until 7 in case she woke earlier tomorrow so they had a very very long bath!

Mrspanic · 16/03/2008 19:45

Holey moley I'd have all mine in bed at 6.30pm, especially the 12yo with his raging hormones, if I could get away with it. As it is, I've just depatched the 9 yo and the 4yo, and am leaving the 12 and 14 y olds to slob around upstairs while i go and open the wine and relax with my novel.(dh out too and I have already eaten with the dcs).

My ds (also 5) regularly goes at 6:30 - he needs his sleep. In fact, I'd say 5 nights out of 7 he goes that early... it's great!

Lulah · 16/03/2008 21:20

if your little ones will go to bed nice and early go with it.
Mine used to go between 5.30 snd 7pm , even when at secondary school 8 - 8.30.
we were all up early bout 6-7am .
I preferred to have some me time in the evening and get up early with them.Made starting nursery and school easy as we were all used to getting up and organised in the mornings.

Cheers

Not unreasonable if she was tired and able to go to sleep. Hope she doesn't wake up really early as a result though.

If DD went to bed at that time she'd still be up 11-12 hours later - so way too early for me!

nappyaddict · 10/04/2008 17:48

does anyone put their dc to bed as early as 5:30?

lulumama · 10/04/2008 17:50

i put DS who is 8.5 to bed at 6,30 yesterday as he was in a foul temper.. has been much better today

VictorianSqualor · 10/04/2008 17:55

I've put DS to bed at about half five when he has been a horrid little shit all day. He has obviously needed the sleep as within about ten minutes he's gone and doesn't get up til the morning.
