And aibu not to get dressed today?
I am nearly 60 and never done this before. Just me and hubby, sure he won't mind. We have a full on day tomorrow, visiting etc...
What do others think?

I’m getting ready to put new pyjamas on for the day and I’m going to my parents. Enjoy yourself and do what you wish. Merry Christmas

Go for it .Merry Christmas in your pj's

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 25/12/2023 11:36

I’m wearing toadstool pyjamas and have zero intention of changing.

Tonight I’ll have a shower and put on fresh pyjamas because I have work tomorrow.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 25/12/2023 11:37

It depends what you mean by 'dressed.' I'm dressed, albeit in old trackpants, old T and old top and feeling very relaxed and comfortable. Whatever floats your boat, I say.

YoongiMarryMe · 25/12/2023 11:37

Go for it!
Im still in my nightie but will swap to a T-shirt and leggings soon. Nothing fancy here, comfort all the way!

Merry Christmas!

Get dressed into something very comfortable?

But staying in pyjamas on Christmas Day is the weirdest thing I discovered on here, so I might not be the person to answer.

On that note, I need to get dressed..

ComtesseDeSpair · 25/12/2023 11:40

Staying in pyjamas in the daytime for me means I’m unwell or hungover rather than being some sort of delightful festive relaxation. If it doesn’t have that association for you then fill your boots!

AuntMarch · 25/12/2023 11:41

I only got dressed as I'm at my mums and might fancy a walk later, otherwise I'd have been in pyjamas when my lift arrived!

FinallyHere · 25/12/2023 11:43

Just sayin'

I only ever get fully dressed in order to leave the house (or, come to think of it, when expecting guests). Any other time I'm wearing exactly the amount of clothes required to be warm and comfortable.

Strongly recommend you try this for a year and let us know next Christmas (at the latest) how you get on.

mogsrus · 25/12/2023 12:05

Who cares if no one else is around, your house, do whatever you want

Rubyupbeat · 25/12/2023 16:57

Thanks, glad I am not alone.

As long as you don't go up and down the street in pj's (obviously braless), dressing gown, and slippers like a neighbour's mother and her friend. Disturbing isn't the word.

Tweedledumdedum · 25/12/2023 17:07

Reminds me of the time my sister asked me if she wanted cake.

Just make a decision, noone else cares 😂

IKnowAPlace · 25/12/2023 17:09

I'm ill and have been changing from and to PJs for several days now. Go for it!

Same here.

ManateeFair · 25/12/2023 17:34

I’m not sure why you’d need to check this?! Just do what makes you happy. You’re in your own home! If you love the idea of spending the day in pyjamas, absolutely do it.

I usually spend New Year’s Eve in pyjamas.

TiredOfSayingItAgain · 25/12/2023 17:39

I had a shower at 11, got some clean pyjamas on. Husband the same. We're in our 60s, just us today, and will have a lot of family here tomorrow

WhamBamThankU · 25/12/2023 18:52

I had a bath and put clean pyjamas on. It's the best Christmas Day I've had in years!

AnnaMagnani · 25/12/2023 18:53

I did get dressed but waited until about 5pm so not sure why I bothered!

It's great, isn't it.

Olika · 25/12/2023 19:05

I have been in my PJs all day though everybody else had dressed. Just couldn't be bothered.

ChristmasTreeCookies · 25/12/2023 19:23

I always wear nice pj's on Christmas day if we are staying at home and it's just us.
What's the point in getting dressed when you are not going anywhere, also it's more comfortable than lounging around in jeans and wearing a bra.

Tonight1 · 25/12/2023 19:35

That's fine :)

I used to sleepwalk but thought I had got over it until I woke up one morning and discovered I was surrounded by loads of things I would never normally buy. So I had sleepwalked to the shop in my long nightie.

They did spot checks on me after that to make sure I wasn't asleep 🤣

Laughing like a drain at this.

Not getting dressed is fab!
