I just hate the pressure on parents , or anyone for that matter with presents and the whole day. Call me bah humbug I am, yes I am. I've never liked Xmas. I can see my parents faces tomorrow when they see that I haven't spent lots of them as I'm a single parent who can't even afford her bills right now. I hate the hype around showing off on social media how many presents people kids got or the piles of them etc

I do however love seeing my little girls face knowing everything she has got has is all because of me. X I just can't stand the rest of the BS and can't wait til it's over.
Not expecting a reply. I'm just ranting

Oh and before anyone asks I no how lucky I am to have food on the table and our health etc I barely have a roof over my head however. But I do no there are worse people off from

Stay off social media: don't compare your rough cuts and outtakes with someone else's highlights reel.

Do your parents know how difficult you're finding things financially? If yes, and they're still snotty then just ignore it. Thoughtful is better than extravagant.

You are not being unreasonable, and you are not alone (for different reasons) but sentiment is the same

Christmas day to lots but its just monday to me.
Dont bother with all the fuss not done it in years.
The best gift i had was the year i stopped it.
