My FIL has kindly come over from abroad to help us fit our bathroom. He is staying with us and we are paying him just a little bit less than we would pay a plumber. However, he has been here two days and already I am being driven up the wall by him. He does nothing but go on about himself all day and butts in whenever you are talking - he always thinks he's right and contradicts me constantly.

Also he's eating me out of bloody house and home! It's cost me an extra £50 so far to feed him and he's only been here two days.

He now reckons the job is going to take two weeks to do. I'm not sure how I'm going to cope with him. I'm up in the bedroom now as he is downstairs drinking his way through our booze cabinet and prattling on.

Plus I heard him telling the kids off earlier for shouting he only sees them once a year if that!

I couldn't have someone I loved (like my owm paretns) with me for that long,let alone an outlaw.

Sounds like he's having his annual vacation.

Could you tell him you are going away for Easter?

I am Pre-menstrual so maybe that's making it worse, but every time I look at him I'm filled with murderous rage! Am taking the kids out in a bit in the pouring rain just for a break.

Feed him what you feed the rest of your family and don't get anything extra in.
