It depends on why it's being censored. There's been a lot of debate about the song because of the use of that word but, for the most part, it's still accepted for being of it's time - and the fact that, in context, the word doesn't mean what it's come to be widely known for now.

On the other hand, the F word is considered a swear word and a slur so some places censor it just for that reason alone. Whether they have any ideological issues with the use of the word in the song or not.

Radio doesn't care about the messaging behind a song so John Lennon's lyrics and rapey connotations are fine as long as they don't contain swear words. Otherwise we'd be banning most of modern pop. Not giving an opinion on it, right or wrong, it's just how it is.

Censorship is hilarious like that. Can't have the kids asking what a slut is but we can happily have them running around the playground accusing other kids of being on junk.

Song lyrics shouldn't be changed anyway just because a few weaklings can't handle certain words
