Dawn Butler has reported Mumsnet as a whole to the police, for talking to each other and Having Views she does not like.
Mumsnet is currently trending on Twitter.

They were in the shops rather than the food hall bits. Can't remember exactly which ones, but multiple places. I look forward to a review.

SurelySmartie · 22/12/2023 17:43

Sorry you make shortbread?

WellOwlBeDamned · 22/12/2023 17:58

@ArabellaScott @Boiledbeetle

as it happens I happen to have a few pallets lying about seeing as it’s nowhere near July

I fear they are a bit puny for a full sized trebuchet though and cat has them paw-marked for hers

someone must know where we could find a few massive thick planks though 🤔

entirely unrelated, does labour hq have a loading bay?

I put dark chocolate chips and roasted hazelnuts into my shortbread. Is this an indictable offence?

I need this recipe <misses point>

FuzzyPuffling · 22/12/2023 18:10

MotherofPearl · 22/12/2023 18:04

I need this recipe <misses point>

4oz butter ( or spready butter)
2 oz demerara sugar
6 oz p flour

Mix this together.

Add 1 packet of chocolate chips ( tesco are good) and a big handful of roasted hazelnuts cut in half ( lidl).

Mush into a ball.
Roll or squish out and cut biscuit shapes.
Cook at 180° for 15-20 mins.
Cool
Eat.

Sorry about ounces measurements..I use a set of 1920s balance scales!

PinkflowersWhiteBerries · 22/12/2023 18:14

I made shortbread yesterday , with a recipe similar to @FuzzyPuffling .
i had not thought of the choc chips and hazelnuts , but I did switch out 1oz of flour for ground almonds. They are lovely.

MotherofPearl · 22/12/2023 18:15

Thanks @FuzzyPuffling that sounds amazing. I adore shortbread, hazelnuts, and of course, chocolate, so I feel this is going to go well.

I say 'misses point' but actually not. Women exchanging ideas, support (and recipes!) is pretty much what MN is about for most of us.

I'm a shit cook, but these biscuits are so easy. Promise!

Just going to quietly bagsy prisoner number 24601 ...

Thecatmaster · 22/12/2023 19:56

@WellOwlBeDamned

'someone must know where we could find a few massive thick planks though 🤔'

You mean like a certain MP and her over eager side kick?

Thecatmaster · 22/12/2023 20:10

We're going to have to be careful when discussing recipes for a good Moroccan shank in there. Wouldn't want to end up with a cavity search by the guards.

Waitwhat23 · 22/12/2023 20:22

I make the Roasted Hazelnut and Chocolate cookies from the Peyton and Bryne cookbook. It's a faff rubbing the skins off the hot nuts (and yes, I'm aware that sounds weird!) but the cookies are definitely worth it.

I make my own Baileys - it's incredibly easy to make and very tasty but definitely does go off (lasts about 2 weeks).

NeelyOHara1 · 22/12/2023 20:27

Why this a hill some MP's and others seem willing to die on, I find surprising.

I have, and given several of the usernames on this thread are the same, I'd wager they have too. Have you, if you didn't spot the crossover? It's hardly a very good thread police test if you don't know the answers, officer!

Apologies @RedToothBrush I've just been pulled back to page 5 by a notification and realised I got completely the wrong end of the stick when I replied to your post. Sorry. 😱

This fine. Figured you probably had.

Dont think I want prison picky bits, sounds very ..... scabby to me.

I can do a crustless quiche and a MASSIVE salad for anyone low carbing with no imagination, but be aware I DO NOT SHARE TWIGLETS.

Also, I have decided on a double bluff, so I am wearing full orange hi-vis on the basis that anyone on the run wouldnt ever be so obvious, so clearly I will never get arrested. Happy to lift share if anyone is in the Midlands and doesnt mind clinging on to the side of a JCB.

I'll lay low in yer bucket. Just don't pull the wrong lever and tip me out.

Barbadossunset · 22/12/2023 22:34

Will we ever discover what the police’s reaction has been/will be to Dawn Butler’s complaint?

CraggyIslandTouristBoard · 22/12/2023 22:45

VaddaABeetch · 22/12/2023 17:42

this depends on being able to run very fast with your fingers in your ears while shouting 'lalalalalala!' at the top of your voice.

yeah but you must run like a girl, all girly like in a twirly dress & ribbons in your hair.

Like this, would you say @VaddaABeetch ?

How lucky we are to have femininity experts such as Dylan to show us how we should exert ourselves.

No, because the met haven’t stopped laughing yet.

I have a Tesco slot for Thursday. We might need one a bit earlier.
please can everyone bring their own toilet roll- cost of living and government cut backs etc.

Noooooooo!!!!

Given how many Mumsnetters there are it'll trigger another national toilet roll shortage!

DragonMama3 · 22/12/2023 22:58

I'd wager the Met's having more pressing issues on Black Eye Friday!
