First of all, sorry for the mistakes, English is not my first language.I been inspired by a previous thread

I have a 6 month old baby and since my last weeks of pregnancy I spend the day and night in my pajamas. On such occasions, when I go with dp or friends to a special place I like wearing makeup and show off a good outfit, but as soon as I get home I put on my pajamas again 🤣
In my daily routines going outside with dc I simply wear sports clothes, but that's the only thing I can tolerate to wear at home.

A friend told me that this can affect your mood, is that true?

How do you all do it to look good at home and feel comfortable?

Can't see myself being ready before dp comes back work 🤣 He doesn't seem to care if I wear makeup or not, although he really appreciate a good outfit. I've a good variety of pajamas that are pretty but not that sexy, It's cold!

Do what works for YOU!
when im at home, i want my home comforts! So leggings or joggers etc. what effects my mood is when im wearing something uncomfortable at home to appease other people!

Men stray if women don't look good. Or go to prostitutes

Perhaps rather than worrying about how good you look for your partner you should focus on raising your standards regarding the men you let into your life.

Maybe your man did that but it isn't most people's experience!

It's true it does effect your mood.
If I have to sit in my best clothes at home with my kid I feel uncomfortable.
When I'm in PJ's or a onesie or in comfy clothes I feel so much more at ease.
Wear what brightens your mood and you feel comfy in.

I totally understand the structure/routine aspect for some people - everyone is different. However my bra is off the minute I get home from work, pyjama bottoms (plain so could pass for joggers in case I have to leave the house) or shorts and a vest top. I'm a teacher so unfortunately have to wear actual clothes and a damn bra to work. I live in a hot country and my tits don't see a bra during the school holidays (unless I'm tutoring) It's a proper culture shock for the poor girls, especially in September after 10 weeks of freedom 🤣 You do you girl x

I get dressed every day, I don't even own pyjamas. I don't wear make- up unless I'm going out.

I do have a few pairs of lounging trousers for the evening- wide leg trousers or loose jogging bottoms. Hush have a great selection of those.

Zanatdy · 31/12/2023 11:11

I always get dressed, because I have a dog, and no garden so we are on our first walk before 7am most days. I wfh half the week and would always get dressed for that, even if no dog. I think getting dressed is good for you, and agree it can affect mood. Doesn’t need to be nice clothes, just casual.

RosesAndHellebores · 31/12/2023 11:16

It's fundamental to living to shower and get dressed every morning imo. To do otherwise is slobby. What do you do if someone comes to the door? Don't you go out every day with the baby? Shopping, library, for a walk, mother and baby group, coffee mornings, etc?

Tumbleweed101 · 31/12/2023 11:43

I have to get dressed and ready for the day so that if I decide to pop out or do some gardening etc I can. I wouldn't feel productive if I stayed in PJs.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/12/2023 11:44

I have “house clothes” which are presentable enough if someone came to the door, but I wouldn’t go out in - joggers, big jumpers, hoodies etc. I don’t wear them to actual bed and I shower/bath every day. If working from home I do makeup and always wear proper clothes because I wouldn’t feel right in lounge wear. (My DP is yet to go to a prostitute.)

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 31/12/2023 11:58

I tend to wear joggers and hoodies type things at home . Comfy and hopefully will mean longer life in my better clothes . When I was working outside the home I would put PJs on when I got home - but since WFH/now retired I put joggers on as I get up and keep on most of the day unless going somewhere (aside from supermarket /walking dog) .

notacooldad · 31/12/2023 12:19

I’ve upped my ‘scruffy’ at home look. I’ve been caught out too many times by either my son popping round and I’d been in pjs or the delivery woman coming to the door. It’s the same person all the time and she lives near me.
i now have a pair of super comfy Hush joggers and an oversize bat wing t shirt as my casual about house. I put a bit of tinted balm on and I feel ready for anything( even if it is just watching old series of Shetland on a rainy afternoon!)

Bellamondus · 31/12/2023 12:50

You do right. Comfort is so important xx

Are you a man?

DeeCeeCherry · 31/12/2023 16:47

I couldnt be in PJs or sportswear all the time. For me it says 'I'm bored, and boring'. I don't dress up at home but looking decent makes me feel good and I'm worth that. 'Just because I want to' is a good enough reason. I wouldn't be seen dead in trackie/sportswear outside I save that for the gym. & I don’t tend to save loads of clothes for 'best' either, they're for me to enjoy. But we're all different so, do you its about what makes you comfortable, not anyone else

Buy nice loungewear then feel less slouchy. I recommend Sunspel, good fabrics and neat fit and so so comfortable.
