Has anyone else been coughing for weeks?

Both me and my 5 year old have been coughing for weeks on end, started off with a snotty nose and sore throat. Now it’s just coughing but it’s showing no signs of going away for either of us. But we’re both not unwell in ourselves.

Just wondering if a doctors trip is in order.

I've had a cough for about 4 weeks now. It's been a dry cough for ages but seems to slowly get better and loosen a bit. However, I was on prednisone until last week and I'm pregnant so can't really take anything anyway, which is why I haven'tgone to see the GP. Just waiting for it to bugger off.
