To think this "sage and savant" is a nutter?

I was given a peek at an email sent from an irate customer to another company. In it the customer says, "I must warn you that you are dealing with a sage and a savant."

This is business to business, not a random member of the public. Am I missing something or have they just made themselves look like a complete weirdo?

Luckily I'm not involved at all (was shown by a person in the trail) so no chance Mr Sage-and-Savant will come to haunt me.

People who words like that to describe themselves are usually horrible pretentiousness with an overflated sense of their own cleverness. Will just keep on and on in an argument, convinced by their own righteousness and won't give an inch because to do so is to have their whole identity fall around their ears.

Maybe they're trying to warn the recipient that they're likely to find it difficult to communicate. Most savants have quite severe learning or social impairments and struggle with language and comprehension.

I once got an email from someone telling me that he knew that I knew that he was connected the government and affiliated worldwide governments who, on religious grounds, have pursued a highly personalised campaign against him due to his close association with the spiritual workings of the universe and the fact that a plague was unleashed on the world the last time someone failed to address a complaint he had.

I bet he's one of those Magna Carta Freeman of the Land nutters too
