I suspect that I am being unreasonable/ menopausal about this so just looking to double check before I apologise 😑
DH has just called to say that his DM and DF want to come over on Saturday to see the kids before Xmas. We are with my fam for Xmas day this year - returning home Boxing Day. Seeing his DPs and Brother's fam on the 27th. Then have his entire extended family (26 people) on the 29th.
We saw his DPs and brother last weekend as it was MiLs birthday.
I said of course they could come over but that our DD (teen) already has plans and might not be around. He said she'd have to cancel plans to see his DPs for a couple of hours as they were bringing presents over. I said I'd rather that we exchange presents on the 27th when we're all together than have the kids open presents before Christmas. And that it was unfair to ask DD to cancel plans when his parents (lovely as they are) will only actually spend 5 mins talking to her. Then it all got a bit grumpy. His DPs will also want to go out for dinner whilst they are here and I don't really want to spend any more money before Christmas (MiLs birthday last weekend was expensive!).
TBH I don't really see the point of them coming over when we'll see them next week anyway. I have stuff to get on with as I work FT and am not really ready for Christmas. Am I being a grumpy cow? Ugh.
First world problems I know....
