AIBU? I split with my boys dad in 2017 and he's never been consistent with buying gifts for events like Christmas or birthdays. Every year he has months to save and he doesn't, then last minute scrambles to get anything and usually gets things weeks later past the event date after telling the kids he's going to get them XYZ. Just recently asked to have DS9 for his birthday and made out he was going to buy some gifts in town with our son, say he hasn't got the money and took DS9 around shops "window shopping" on his birthday. They bought a cake and DS9 dad took a photo of it to show me, only with a huge money jar in the background as if it was placed on purpose. DS9 said his dad had around £100+ in it. I don't dictate what their dad spends his money on. I just ask for consistency and we don't get that either.
AIBU being annoyed over this? When I have mentioned it he goes on to say "I'm a sh*t dad aren't I? Are you happy now I've said that?" How do you even address this?
