AIBU to be concerned about my son

My son is 3 and has been fully potty trained for a while now. In the last few days he’s had loads of accidents (he’s literally never had an accident, no matter the situation e.g. illness etc)
he’s also started napping again and his behaviour hasn’t been very good for the last month or two.
Should I be concerned? He’s eating and drinking well but I feel like for a while now he’s been regressing… nothing has changed at all at home/nursery etc I’m absolutely at a loss.

Wee accidents? Combined with the unusual sleepiness I would be worried about T1 diabetes.

@Ratfinkstinkypink thank for your reply, yes only wee! Hmm maybe I should go to the drs. I never know if I’m over cautious or not!

Maybe drop in a urine sample to check for water infection?

FawnFrenchieMum · 17/12/2023 19:18

My daughter used to have sudden random accidents when she was coming down with something and would stop as quick as it started.
However, if it happens for more then a few days I would get him checked out with the GP.

@JonSnowedUnder thats a good idea! Thank you

@FawnFrenchieMum that’s interesting, I’ll wait to see how he goes over the next few days

As pp said T1 diabetes would be a concern as would a urine infection. This also happens when my son is having a big growth spurt - 2/3 cm in a week. Everything goes mental then goes back to normal as if nothing has happened

Copasetic · 17/12/2023 21:08

The only time I've known this happen is when kids have been becoming ill.

Strawberrylacess · 17/12/2023 21:13

urine infection?

Cas112 · 17/12/2023 21:14

I would get him checked out at the doctors

Thanks everyone, I’ll see how he is tomorrow and then try and get an app 😬
