To give my manager a card?

We're undergoing a restructure at work and I'll have a new manager. My current manager has been amazing. We get along like a house on fire but he's great at maintaining professional boundaries. He's been there when I've doubted myself, he's gently guided me and really made me into the person (in a professional capacity) that I am today. I'm incredibly sad that he's not going to be my manager anymore, although he'll still be around.

Would it be weird of me to send him a nice card thanking him for being such a great manager?

Not weird at all.

One of my team once gave me a card like that and it was lovely, it's amazing to feel valued by the people who work for you ☺️

No - not if you have found him helpful and supportive as you say. Also, this time of year, a halfway house might be to combine your appreciation with a Christmas greeting.

Thank you for your replies. I will send him a lovely card then and know I'm not weird. Ha!
