There was a thread on this topic, but it reminded me (child of the 60s) of a song by Cilla Black heartbreaking lyrics

It got me thinking about other songs from my 1960's youth.. How about

At the time we didn't have a 'radiogram' and I remember going to my uncle's house and requesting these songs. Thankfully counterbalanced by the uplifting Sound of Music.

So AIBU to think that the children of the 60's faced too much gritty reality and did not have enough unicorns in their lives (although we did have Puff the Magic Dragon).

I was born in 1959 and would happily have shot a unicorn and have its head as a trophy on my wall.

NB. Unicorns don't exist, apart from the narwal.

We also had Morningtown (New Seekers), so not all bad!

I used to sing Morningtown Ride with my dad.niw hevs no longer here it makes me tearily nostalgic.
