Yes it will only update when it is delivered

I think the service that's beeen bought is not really a full tracking service - just a proof of delivery.

Therefore the only check point will be when the item is delivered or a delivery is attempted.

Royal Mail do other services that provide better and more detailed tracking, but this has not been purchased in this case.
