Loneliness this Christmas

Regular poster, but changed my username, so I could post this, which I just received from Avon and Somerset Police. Its sad that people are so alone , but its so much worse at Christmas.

We advise people to Take 5 (minutes) and Tell 2 (people) if they are unsure about a form of contact they have received. This rule can help people stay safe from the various types of fraud out there.

But what if you don't have 2 people to tell?

Fraudsters often target people who are lonely and vulnerable and many victims of fraud I have visited recently have been extremely isolated.

Could you be someone's person to tell this Christmas?

Hi new to Mumsnet. I am def one of those people. I only have one elderly parent and no friends. I have to tag celebrities when I enter those Instagram giveaways that ask you to "Tag 2 friends who you would take with you" It's very embarrassing

They have my number. They're friendly enough but seem to want to keep me and each other at arms length. Just civil pleasantries when we cross paths.

That's a shame
