i have no idea if iamu or not but i am fuming

dd1 got a lovely rabbit for her 6th birthday, he is her first pet (and the first one we have had as a family) and we are all really fond of him, he is a really gentle little thing who does not mind both dd's poking at him.

someone who stays near me has the same kind of rabbit and had asked if she could bred of him but we said no, he is only a baby and we dont want to do anything to upset his nature (iykwim) plus dd over heard this and was horrified, she said its her rabbit (which it is) and she did not want him to be a daddy.

i spent a few days at my mums last week and on our first day back the rabbit bit dd1, she was gutted as he has never done this before but i put it down to her maybe being rough. one of my friends was popping over to feed him and when i mentioned it to her she said that one day she had come over and found this person in my garden with her female rabbit in our rabbits hutch

she had thought it strange at the time but this person had told her that i had agreed to it.

what would you do about this? i am furious that she has gone behind my back and will be making a tidy profit from my flippin rabbit. how dare she come into my garden and do this.

i have yet to see her and the way i am feling just now i think that is a good thing.

I would be livid!!

How dare she do this to you!! And to your bunny!

I would have it out with her. Because I am like that!! How dare she!

kerryk · 14/03/2008 19:39

thank you, reading it back i wondered if i was being really childish.

OP posts:
dustystar · 14/03/2008 19:40

I'd be livid too

goingfor3 · 14/03/2008 19:42

I would be really cross!!! What if she can't find homes for all of the babies???

lardylumps · 14/03/2008 19:42

what a bloody liberty for you, that is trespass for a start. Would your friend recognise her? You should tell the lady you are taking the matter further.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 14/03/2008 19:43

Cheeky mare!! Get right over there and demand she pays a stud fee!! Or tell her you just thought you'd better let her know that your rabbit has been to the vet and has syphilis (they can get it!!) so she'd better watch, as it is highly contagious. (It's not transmissable to humans, but, well- she doesn't have to know that!! )

FourPlusOne · 14/03/2008 19:45

I would be v angry about this. More from the point of view that it may have made your rabbit more aggressive (but would be angry anyway). Is what she did legal?

ingles2 · 14/03/2008 19:45

OMG! For Real!!!???!!! I'd be too
In fact.... she's raped your rabbit!!!
Seriously...I would be very very pissed off. I'd probably report her to somone... not sure who though!

Yurtgirl · 14/03/2008 19:46

I would be furious
How dare she?
You had already said no!!
I dont know what you should do though

Write her a letter of complaint maybe?

ingles2 · 14/03/2008 19:47

it's got to be the RSPCA then surely?

dustystar · 14/03/2008 19:49

I don't think the RSPCA would be interested tbh. I doubt very much that the male rabbit had the slightest objection

It was completely out of order though and certainly trespassing.

kerryk · 14/03/2008 19:49

i really dont know what to do, no way am i letting it lie but not sure what to do for the best, dh is planning on taking all the bunnies of her to make sure they go to a good home rather than just being sold for profit but i still want to smack her in the face first.

OP posts:
ingles2 · 14/03/2008 19:51

probably not...but it's got to worth a go....
Actually...sod it, really frighten her and go to the police!

kerryk · 14/03/2008 19:51

its actually bothering me more because it is dd's "baby" and i feel she has done something to hurt her if that makes sense.

OP posts:
ingles2 · 14/03/2008 19:52

I've got it!
Go to the papers kerryk!!!
The NOTW would love this!

Weegle · 14/03/2008 19:54

I would report to the police for trespassing - using your friend for ID. If nothing else it will put the wind up her sails. I can't believe she would actually do that, I'm gobsmacked, I would be livid.

itsahardknocklife · 14/03/2008 20:04

God I would be furious! Trespassing and going against your wishes. Make her pay to have your rabbit neutered.

SparklyGothKat · 14/03/2008 20:12

bloodly cheeky cow!!!

fingerwoman · 14/03/2008 20:18

actually, there is no law of trespass in this country is there?
so doubt the police would be interested.

I would definitely be round ther ehaving VERY strong words though.

itsahardknocklife · 14/03/2008 20:21

I would have bloody strong words. And demand half the baby rabbits to rehome yourself so you know they are going to decent places.

mysonsmummy · 14/03/2008 20:21

did she just let herself into your back garden. i cant believe someone would do that and i'd be bloody fuming.

i think its bit too much of a coincidence that she was there exactly same time as your friends if shes only gone once - do you think she may have gone a few times 'just to make sure it worked'. be cross about dd be bitten as well as that obviously her fault. what a cow!!

southeastastra · 14/03/2008 20:23

i agree with itsahardknocklife, get her to pay for him to be neutered. tell her he is more aggressive now and neutering is the only way he'll become calm again.

what a cow.

kerryk · 14/03/2008 20:28

i do have a padlock on the back gate but if you push the bottom of the gate with your foot it will still open, never thought that she might have been here more than once though

OP posts:
fingerwoman · 14/03/2008 20:34

would def tell her you are reporting it to the police though.

theft of rabbit semen???

NutterlyUts · 14/03/2008 20:35

breaking and entering if she bypassed a padlocked gate?
