Jbrown76 · 12/12/2023 10:00

Just received a oodie dressing down, arrived late and what arrived was thin, creased, poor shape..i emailed weeks ago, no reply, other orders are outstanding, no idea when I'll receive them and now I have emailed customer service to request a return, they probably won't reply until the new year. I'm not joking or over exaggerating, this was supper to be buttery soft, thick and cost just like the hoodies. It was thin. I'm.juat ranting.

Looking at the site I think the dressing gowns are thinner than the hoodies (don't have the same fleecy lining).

Description for the Oodie
Every Oodie is made from toasty-warm sherpa fleece on the inside and buttery-soft, ToastyTekâ„¢ flannel fleece on the outside.

For the dressing gown
A deliciously cuddly and soft fleece with a brushed inner.

Not a dressing gown but I ordered an oodie for £35 in their black Fri event on their official website on 25th Nov. It arrived on the 4th December so took a little longer to arrive than expected, but the quality is good and it’s thick and snuggly. Tracking said it came from Manchester.

nunsflipflop · 12/12/2023 12:55

@Zoreos i have had 2 of those emails, still no order. So close to cancelling, but it is all my DS has asked for

I don’t blame you, I’d probably be thinking of cancelling if I were you as well I think I must have just gotten really lucky. Especially as it’s the only thing your DS has asked for. Fingers crossed for you that it arrives in the next few days 🤞 I hope you and your DS have a lovely Christmas.

ilovesushi · 12/12/2023 13:18

@TheCompactPussycat it is still lovely and warm and the quality is good but the fabric is less heavy. I got a tied died one so maybe that particular fabric is lighter than the block colours?

Mywingshurt · 12/12/2023 13:24

If anyone is looking for genuine oodies at a lower cost then you can get them from this website (tags are cut out so some may not deem them "giftable" , but they're the real deal).

https://www.5poundstuff.com/products/blanket-hoodie-sherpa-fleece-orange

There are additional oodie designs on this website too. Not all of their hooded blankets are oodies though, important to read the reviews and have an idea what you're looking for or risk buying something made much more cheaply.

I ordered a dark blue one, light blue cloudy one and the cat one as gifts. All genuine with the labels cut out and came within 2 days. Saved a fortune.

This hoodie with long sleeves covers you completely well and allows you to move and use your hands freely. It keeps you warm and cosy while lounging at home, having morning coffee outside, or at a sporting event, you can wear it for any camping or outd...

Their shipping since Black Friday is diabolical. I have been waiting and chasing, still no sign of my order. If this is their service, it can be spun with real gold, I won’t be back

Edited

Their trustpilot reviews are nightmarish at the moment.

i got mine within 2 weeks of ordering during the black friday sales and its gorgeous, no complaints at all.

Wheresthebeach · 12/12/2023 13:52

Ours are lovely. Really warm and soft.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/12/2023 13:52

I'm sorry but I think you've ordered from a fake website
I bought DS1 his last Christmas and it's literally so heavy It drags me down!

Wheresthebeach · 12/12/2023 14:04

Just return them if you're unhappy.

BrownTableMat · 12/12/2023 14:08

If you look at trustpilot ALL their recent reviews, hundreds of them, are 1 star. Whatever they used to be, they’re clearly not coping with the Black Friday rush but they’re still offering lots of cut price deals and taking new orders, which is really bad form in my book. I’d never order from them.

porridgeisbae · 12/12/2023 14:09

I don't think there is such a thing a real and knockoff for Oodies

Of course there is. There's a knock off for everything. OP says hers is from China- I don't think a real Oodie would be.

Yes the sort of thing somewhat existed before, but the Oodie popularised it.

carkerpartridge · 12/12/2023 14:21

Op I think I may have the same problem with dressing gowns. I have bought 2 in the sales recently and am sure that they were from the real website. I got a flowery one and an avocado one. They are both much thinner than I would have expected, they are very creased and there are a few loose threads. I remember thinking that the photos on the website made some of the dressing gowns look a bit lacking in fluffiness!

I am sure (as I can be) that they are from the genuine website because I went through Topcashback and have a record of my purchase on the Topcashback website. When they were delivered they were vacuum packed and then were inside orange bags.

The label on the pocket says Oo. Does anyone know if this is genuine as I have nothing to compare it with!

Canisaysomething · 12/12/2023 14:25

They’re made of 100% plastic fluff, absolutely horrible things and awful for the environment and the air that you breathe.

carkerpartridge · 12/12/2023 14:26

I'm obviously getting Oodie adverts now on MN. If anyone else can see the adverts, I think the type of dressing gown I got is the type that shows a discount of 58% whereas the fluffier ones have 40% off.

rosyglowcondition · 12/12/2023 14:48

The real Oodies are massively thick and heavy. Swamps me.

rosyglowcondition · 12/12/2023 14:50

Try returning it. Or contact the store you bought it from. It can't possibly be a real one

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 12/12/2023 15:18

These are good. And not quite as expensive!

Just looked at the Trustpilot link above, Oh dear...

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 12/12/2023 15:25

Can't believe they're still having these shipping issues. I ordered 2 or three that Christmas when there was all that hold up in France getting stuff in the country, I ended up cancelling the whole order as I wasn't going to get it before Xmas (they couldn't even confirm I'd get them after Xmas if I remember rightly).

Their trademarking of ToastyTek made me giggle. Wonder which marketing manager came up with that.

I bought an Oodie in their sale. It's so thick and warm compared to our other fake oodies from M&S etc, I actually gave mine to DH as it is too warm for me. Send it back if it's not right OP.

This is why I haven’t bought one, they look too warm. I have an ankle length one that is thinner but keeps my body warm.

Autleigh · 12/12/2023 16:26

I ordered some from a website called trueface and they are brilliant and so cheap compared to other places, especially with it being so cold now.

ScrummyDiva2 · 12/12/2023 16:36

There's no padlock symbol at the start of the website address on your screenshot OP - surely that means it's fake??

yorkshireshire · 13/12/2023 21:38

there was a bit on The One Show BBC 1 programme about Oodies this evening (13 Dec) on the Watchdog bit of the programme - about huge delays in shipping that have been caused by massive black friday purchasing. its probably on catch up if you can be bothered.
