Was teacher wrong for this

My DD is 4 and in Reception. Every morning one of her friends brings her in a sticker. DD has come home upset saying the teacher shouted at them and snatched the sticker off DD and ripped it into two. She has said her other friend wanted it too so maybe was jealous so teacher took it off them. But shes now really upset that it was ripped. I know it’s just a sticker but she was excited to have another one brought for her by her friend when I dropped her off this morning and she’s upset she was shouted at. Was it wrong of the teacher ?

What a four year old says happened, might not be quite what happened. Always best to check.

No
I am guessing your DD has told a slightly skewed version of events.
I imagine these stickers maybe causing some upset and are a way of one child showing who her best friend is and making another child feel left out
Or some other upset between small children over one sticker.
I would think the sticker tore accidentally during some interaction.
Leave the teacher to it

I agree with the other PPs. I reckon there was probably some fuss or argument about the sticker between the children and the teacher decided to nip it in the bud by taking it from them. I would want to give the teacher the benefit of the doubt here not my 4 yo to be honest! If you are worried though then tell the teacher your DD was upset when she got home and see what the teacher says.
