We live in a semi detached house very rurally and have three children, 1-7 years of age. Both us and our neighbours bought a house which needed work and we are three years in.
Last night neighbours start hammering something on the adjoining wall at 845pm, it’s a school night, they have form for this. They have no children and appear to be completely oblivious at best and inconsiderate at worst. This went on for about an hour before we decided to send a polite message about finishing. It’s loud, it’s woken the children and we can’t even sit in our living room (we didn’t say any of that to them).
We are friendly but not friends if you get my gist and they basically come back and say it’s not that late and they will do what they want and continued.
We work on different time schedules but I do try to not let the kids in the garden too early etc. wWe are very much aware that we are a family and they are not. No one is perfect but do you think this is reasonable in a semi and particularly on the shared wall?
