Am I the only person who can't stand the word fanny?

I find the word fanny ick and uncomfortable. I really cringe when people use it. It just sounds vile and reminds me of like a big fat builder fanny or something weird like that (I know, what is wrong with me!?) But seriously is anyone else the same?

What other words make you cringe??

I'm from Glasgow, so 'fanny' is common parlance as an insult. I would consider its usage quite vulgar in relation to a vagina.

Similarly, I'm quite used to the word 'cunt' being used as an affectionate term, so I'm not phased by it at all.

I know two women called this, both foreign-born and it’s their real name since birth. When one realised what this infers in the UK she changed her name. The other couldn’t care less.

I hate it too. None of my friends use it. Most people I know say vag or vagina. I thought people don't use fanny much anymore. But when I do hear someone say it I'm shocked and I cringe.

I don’t mind adults using it, but my sister’s taught her small daughters to say it as a child-friendly equivalent to willy, and I find that quite uncomfortable (though I realise that’s not logical!).

tbh it’s one of my favourite words.

At my school, there was a board with the names of past head girls on it. We always giggled at the one from 1953 - Fanny Hole 😂. Many a photo was taken next to that board.....
