According to recent threads:

Everyone over the age of about 35 looks way younger, constantly mistaken for younger, doesn't have a line on their face yet despite never using suncream, and their nan only used bin juice on their face and smoked 80 fags a day but had beautiful skin at 103 years old.

Everyone had sex with their complete stranger dp within about 4 seconds of meeting them for the first time, their dp moved in that night and never left and they're coming up to 762 years of happy marriage now.

Everybody on here seems to earn 200k in some mysterious job that doesn't seem to exist, they can't quite explain what they do, but they worked their asses off to get to this level of seniority which involves them working 3 hours a week for 2 weeks a year.

Interested to hear any more.

Baby names was the place I first learned there are a LOT of ignorant racists on MN, sadly.
Evidenced by the type of names people found "made- up" or "chavvy". Er...not everyone is naming a blond Anglo baby and the name you think is "made- up" is probably someone's great grandmothers!

Tueresmuyguapo · 12/12/2023 14:03

Men under 30 should be devoid of any sort of responsibility, they should not under any circumstances be in a position to commit to a partner because they are 'too young '.

Friends are not important and you should want to spend every waking moment with your husband and children otherwise you clearly don't love them enough.

People can't be separated from their child even for one night until the child is in sixth form and even then, one must feel very guilty.

A friend is being needy and unreasonable if they want to go out with you for a meal for their birthday with 5 months notice, without asking your husband or children along too. Weekends are family time!

I often think if anyone was to get divorced, they'd crumble at the thought of having to leave the house and socialise....alone 😱😱😱

ImCamembertTheBigCheese · 12/12/2023 14:29

Oh I forgot one, genuine one this time. I learned what a MAMIL is. I now know what to call them when I see them flocking by the lights on a Sunday morning.

OneTC · 12/12/2023 14:34

That just when you think you've read the craziest thing ever along comes another one that makes it seem quite normal by comparison

ArcaneWireless · 12/12/2023 14:37

That there isn’t enough Immac in the land to defluff the hairy handies that appear at night.

There is also not enough medicated cream to soothe all that must be rubbed red raw.

Oh god, yes... I remember a "What's the most unusual..." baby name thread, but it turned into a ridiculing names thread. Including that of my dear, late DGF.

No, he didn't have a stupid name, it was Polish!

75% of the population has ADHD.

Now you can piss off with that one.

Gt86 · 12/12/2023 14:53

I haven't experienced anything on mumsnet that has been posted in this thread, therefore you are all wrong. End of.

Tueresmuyguapo · 12/12/2023 15:11

Whatever you post, another poster will search your entire history to try and 'out' you as a fake, "3 weeks ago you said your MIL was 67 and now you say she's 68 so that means you're a troll poster!"

Nearly every single, totally normal smell in the world gives swathes of MNers intense migraines which send them to their beds for days on end.

The dog hatred on here is out of proportion with real life (well my life anyway!)

To be fair that's because you can't express it in real life, it's like saying women's spaces should be for female-bodied people only and so not allowed. Much like the Egyptians worshipped cats, the British worship dogs and you can't criticise them.

enchantedsquirrelwood · 12/12/2023 15:31

And thinking about another thread, sorry I said "to be fair". I know that annoys some MNers!

thelastrose · 12/12/2023 15:32

A surprising number of posters will not bother to fully read the title of a thread, let alone the opening post, before plopping down their opinion.

A surprising number of posters will never trouble themselves to read the first sentence of an OP, and instead ask questions that have been answered in that very first sentence, like how old is your DS?

A surprising number of posters will never make the effort to use "see all", missing further updates and/or resolutions and page after page adding their now irrelevant 2p worth.

And a surprising number of posters will jump down a previous poster's neck for seemingly no reason at all, then shake them about madly like a crazed dog, having only read a few words of their post, misunderstood their meaning, and when met with a polite murmur of remonstrance, will bust out a few more good kicks, having found a good outlet for all their poorly restrained aggression.

Choosing the right prep school is agonizing.
Still wearing skinny jeans is untenable.

Crikeyalmighty · 12/12/2023 15:35

@ImCamembertTheBigCheese yep- I used to work as HR /office manager and that chestnut really 'boiled my piss' because HR are like accountants or lawyers or supervisors are not a homogenous species - quite often they have unpleasant things to do too as part of their job- not usually instigated by them!

Haha touched a nerve?

Every other thread has ( I have Adhd) as an excuse for something or other. A ridiculous proportion of people just diagnose themselves.

Ah but ADHD/ASD matures into a misbehaving DP/DH it becomes NPD/BPD=LTB.

Yes as PP said, middle aged men in lycra. We see them in packs on a Sunday waiting by traffic lights.

enchantedsquirrelwood · 12/12/2023 16:18

MAMILs are generally on bikes, but I guess could be runners too.

On the dogs jumping up at people every time they leave the house, it also seemed that during covid, every single time people left the house they were accosted by virus shedding joggers breathing all over them.

enchantedsquirrelwood · 12/12/2023 16:19

You mean...they actually STOP at traffic lights? And wait?

I mean, I thought no cyclist stopped at a red light, ever.

Xmas Grin

I agree. It feels as if some people thought we were on the 'workers side' and should act like a Union of sorts. I am no longer in HR but often we did have to do things a certain way due to policy or because we are told to.
