To not go in tomorrow

Partner had a heart attack 6 weeks ago
3 months ago we started investigation into whether I had rheumatoid arthritis. Current thinking is osteoarthritis and ehlers-danlos.
One of the management team really wants to get involved in what I am subject matter expert and was brought in to fix/manage and keeps screwing stuff up.
I'm in agony as I just changed the bed lol.
Feet are like toothache all the time and then walking on knives when I walk
Hands are like toothache all the time with shooting pains when I use them.
AIBU to call in tomorrow and take to my bed?

I am not sure what the management team has to do with your post. But yes, it sounds like you are in a lot of pain and bed rest would do you good.

Drowningnotwaving74 · 10/12/2023 13:44

Mainly that I can't be bothered to deal with politics.
For political reasons I should do what I have done every week and drag myself in for the management meeting, but I'm so worn out I just canr be bothered

If you work at my place come in cos every other buggar is off sick cos they have a snotty nose!

furtivetussling · 10/12/2023 17:02

No-one is indispensable. You're in pain, you have a medical condition, so take the day off sick. Nobody will appreciate it if you martyr yourself and turn up, so fuck 'em.

TheLocust · 10/12/2023 17:05

I think you should take a couple of days off to rest.

I also think you should think about editing your OP, maybe be a bit more vague. Someone from your work might identify you from that post.

QueenBean22 · 10/12/2023 17:08

If you’re too unwell then yes you should not go in

Drowningnotwaving74 · 10/12/2023 17:15

It's pain rather than illness
I walk like a duck that's pood itself

Thanks @TheLocust I genuinely no longer care if they know. I think that's part of the problem. I start to dread Monday on a Friday before I have finished.
Worked lots over the weekend

Just had enough I think.
Wayyy too much going on to deal with Little dicks, trying to show they are men by running interference 😆

In that case, I suggest a couple of days rest for now then in the new year maybe think about looking for a new job.

Xmasblues · 10/12/2023 17:37

If you’re in pain take a couple of days off sick.

You could even ask the doctor for a sick note and try and get the week off.

If the meeting is important you could ask that it’s recorded or you can join in on teams or something.

LlynTegid · 10/12/2023 17:54

You should not be working over the weekend. Stop doing that, regardless of whether you are at work tomorrow, which by the sounds of what you describe you should not be.

Joining in on Teams or some other way might be an option.
