I've felt light headed today and under the weather and started feeling a pain on my belly and there's this rash here, it's painful but don't know if I should worry?

It could be shingles.

Yes I was going to say the same. My sister has similar at the mo and has just been given medication for shingles.
Hope you get it sorted ☺️

I’m coming on to third shingles. Have you felt a bit under the weather as well?

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 09/12/2023 20:16

Looks like shingles to me. Call 111 and they'll get you an out of hours gp appt if they think you should have antivirals. Don't wait till the morning, call now and hopefully they'll be able to get you an appointment early - they're more effective the sooner you take them. They might decide your medical history means you don't need antivirals, but if you do, then sooner is better.

Also, if it is shingles, the fluid from the blisters can give someone chicken pox if they've not had it. Something to bear in mind if you've young children etc.

Thank you everyone. You were all right I've spoken to a doctor and it's shingles.

Ouch, poor you. I found the chicken pox gel very good for the pain of the rash. It didn't hurt too badly at first but omg did it get worse! It's called Virasoothe, the spray worked best.

For those who've had shingles, is this normal? It's not painful really, just itchy.

Looks to-be-expected to me, started like blisters that have now scabbed, it is the same virus as chickenpox just that the outbreak is localised to a nerve area. If it's mainly itchy rather than painful now that's probably a good sign.
