Bus stop row

OolSarahloO · 09/12/2023 16:05

Waited ages for a bus and when it pulled up 2 women (prob 60s) appeared out of nowhere and manoeuvered a buggy with a child right in front of the bus doors. I stepped in front of them as I was there first and they started muttering about how rude I was behind my back. I turned to ask them what the problem was and said I'd been at the bus stop before them. They said they'd be waiting elsewhere and that I was rude for going in front. I told them they were being passive aggressive complaining behind my back and they just kept saying I was rude. Anyway.. I let them get on first to avoid further conflict but was so wound up and annoyed with myself for even giving a shit. Am I unreasonable for stepping in front of them?

Yes as PastelHouses said. You all sounded ready for a fight!

Gazelda · 09/12/2023 16:15

Did you all manage to get a seat?

Why is their age relevant?

The bus driver's mind must have been boggling while you were all squabbling like that.

Bobbybobbins · 09/12/2023 16:18

YANBU but if they had a buggy and I didn't I would have let them on first.

Shithole101 · 09/12/2023 16:23

Maybe they thought you would sit on the seats that are very close to the buggy area. Sometimes the bus is empty and loads of times people sit on the chairs close to the buggy area then mum/gran has to stand.

Nobody would dare push in the bus queue where I live, it’s asking for trouble. YANBU
