Scammed by the Kitty cafe

Gah I’m so frustrated.

I signed up for a Kitty cafe subscription box in October, and they charged me in November as well.

They’ve sent nothing. I’ve called repeatedly, emailed repeatedly, they’re always ‘waiting for the higher ups who deal with this’ to help.
I’ve tried to do charge back with the bank, it’s ‘not able to process it at this time’.

It’s £33.95 x2 and it’s Christmas and I’d quite like the money back! (I’ve also been waiting for a bloody Oodie order since 15/11 and that’s another present I’ve got to replace.)

Any ideas what I can do, short of turning up at the actual cafe and staging a sit-in until they refund?

Can't help you with the Kitty Cafe, sorry, but I got my Oodie delivered yesterday after ordering it mid November. Yours should be due any day.

Can you message their social media publically? Twitter/FB?
Companies seem to be responding to be called out like that more often than emails.

My oodie took ages to arrive. It was shipped over from Australia 🇦🇺. But I love it, it's worth waiting for. Regarding the kitty cafe, contact your bank and tell them you've been scammed. They'll do a charge back.

I mean, obviously you should get your money back but I don't get the "it's Xmas and I can't afford it" bit. If you subscribed and got the stuff you'd still have spent the money, so either way you're £66 down. (unless the stuff was going to be presents?)

I had this with a company called Unfolded that claim to reduce waste in the way they produce their non existent, undelivered clothes. Luckily after a 12 week wait and several emails which they responded to with vague platitudes about extended production times for ecological reasons I was able to get a refund through PayPal, who are now presumably chasing them for the money

I can't help you specifically with Kitty club, but I do try to use PayPal for every payment to a company I'm not sure of/have not dealt with before, as PayPal is extremely helpful in the event of the company not delivering as promised or in the time scale promised.

The Kitty Cafe place sounds horrendous from an animal welfare pov. Did you not read the trustpilot reviews? They treat animals appallingly so scamming customers is probably going to be par for the course. The subscription box sounds incredibly bad value as well. What a horrible sounding place.

Speak to your bank or credit card company - however you paid for the goods speak to them. They should advise you how to get your monies back
